#hollow knight, dualsense mode - none of the menu buttons work

hollow knight (original, not silksong)

using dualsense connected over bt
passthrough mode doesnt work at all as the game doesnt support it, but dualsense emulation mode doesnt work properly. the plus/minus/trackpad buttons dont work to pull up the game menu/map and there is no way to activate it... any idea why?

otherwise the game controls work fine, just no way to bring up the menu

Do they work properly natively wired ? Iirc, that game is pretty much broken when it comes to Dualsense support
