By "not responding" you mean the DSX Window ? It was a Windows pop-up offering you to either close the app or wait until it responds ?

You should be able to just let windows wait it out normally
Maybe you have a lot of other stuff running and somehow DSX trying to do its thing when launching is getting stuck too long (hence the popup)
I waited for over 30 minutes, but the application still didn’t respond.

I'd advise you to try wiping out anything DSX clean using this tool and its post uninstall Scan (advanced) to be sure everything DSX related is deleted so you can start fresh

You're welcome. It's only a hunch of mine. No idea if this will help or not but I think it might be a good starting point to troubleshoot from if the issue persists afterwards

In Steam DSX properties, select the beta branch
3.0.5 is getting as old as it's behind 3.1 anyway so it's always the preferred version to be on nowadays 🙂

You don't need one
No no, no code needed don't worry 🙂 Just (force) close DSX and update normally from Steam
If it doesn't offer you the update, restart your steam client or click verify files for DSX
