I have really good luck like 100% rate of my nukes getting through at least. I just get the F-4 or MiG-23 and use the smallest nuke on the fuel/ammo storage with all the defense and land and rearm until I have the big nuke. Just did the game ended with the Tu-95

rn it seems to just straight up drastically reduce a lock range

you are able to lock them up pre-burn through but the lock ends up like a thousand feet above their aircraft and then eventually breaks makin fox-1's useless

it appears on radar as a large vertical column sorta noising up a certain azimuth

they also buffed the ecm yesterday so the burn through range is prolly like less than 2 miles if even that

Doubt it'll make its way to tactical aircraft but it's definitely a useful tool to up bomber survivability so I imagine that strategic bombers will get them but only in special gamemodes. Gaijin already confirmed that post-event they won't have ECM for stuff like air rb or ground rb

And I can totally see them fandangling that ECM mechanic onto a dedicated jamming/sead platform to fly form with friendlies and defend them

but dedicated jammers for fighters are less likely imo due to balance

since they have to either go after the escorting aircraft which buys enough time for the bomber to drop the bomb

I've found that on the other hand it's way too easy to take out bases

We had like 5 guys defending our main forward base but eventually one gets close enough

There's really nothing to be done if the enemy is multipathing well enough

And on the flipside I got a nuke of on the enemies last FOB with like 8 guys on it and I don't think I ever appeared on spotting before the bomb pickled

cause they can get there fast enough (with planning) and can actually shoot down all the high people

I think the big thing is the best way to grind for big nuke (and even nukes in general) is to get kills

killing radars and spawning medium/small nukes to play the objective just makes it take that much longer to get the game winner

i think its also kind of a problem that all the SHORAD is optically guided

and since its just aimbot AI it just

i think they changed the balance on it too because

the AI used to not shoot down mavericks, gbu39s, and various other small diameter munitions

but now they do all the sudden they do

and it doesnt help its like a 100% hit rate

they literally dont miss

makes using ARMs kinda lame because they just get shot down

the thing is most of it is radio command guidance (RCG) which can present as optically guided but its really at the end of the day a roundabout radar based SACLOS

so it should be degraded when you chaff off the lock or whatever

but nahhh the optical only track is perfect, even behind hills

I’ve had a lot of fun bringing 2xARAD and 16x vikhrs on the frog foot for ground strikes, using viks as decoys then shooting the radiation missiles

Ive also plan on messing around with apkws on a10 but haven’t unlocked them yet

The most damning thing in there is like references to documents that are all likely pulled off the internet and while export restricted have been publicly available for ages and just cant be acknowledged on a technicality

yeah the documents are likely just pulled off the internet or even forums but the issue is that they regularly not allowing those types of documents to be shared/used as sources in the forums but are still confirmed to be using them anyway

which can cause issues if they decide to balance some vehicles based off of one of those documents in a "bias-y" way while also turning the other cheek for other vehicles by saying they can't use those documents

Thats a seperate issue, this is purely presented as it being a problem that they are using those sources, which I think is dumb, everyone can see these sources they just cant publicly acknowledge it without getting in trouble, so they are really taking the most reasonable approach

The only alternative would be to not even reference them privately and then the game is just worse

Gaijins balancing sucks ass, but that has nothing to do with this, besides a tangential excuse used occasionally, an excuse that the leakers are not even highlighting in their complaint
