every 2 days there is a new mark of distinction

it requires 45000 mission score to complete (but is multiplied depending on mode and rank)

so for example if you fly a rank 7-8 in ARB

youll get 1.6x as much mission score

towards the mark

for this case

the persian cat is an air event

so you only get progress towards it while flying aircraft

in air modes

after the 2 days is up though you cant do that mark anymore

so pretty much you have leeway on one mark if you want the persian cat

because there will be 9 marks

you get the persian cat on your 8th completed mark

its quite a grindy event but it is the most straightfoward

play the game a shit ton and youll get progress as simple as that

ive been playing for a couple hours today at rank 7 in ARB and im about halfway done with mark 1

and im not getting good games left and right

if youre better at the game and can drop a good 2 or 3 kills a game in a top tier ARB youll be done before you know it

fly it like a starfighter, avoid big turns and play high up and sling down PL-5B's

The J-7E's best weapon is its flight model followed by its missiles.

it gets 4x PL-5B's which are pretty nutty missiles, they're a bit like a domestically produced Magic 1 clone. What makes them good is that they have insanely low drag and a REALLY powerful booster phase that only lasts about 1.2-1.5 second.

They can be shot up to 4km away if you're above and faster than the target.

couple this with 30g's of pull they're impossible to defeat kinetically.

however, they're only rear aspect and have near to zero flare resistance. If you flare at any point of the missiles duration in flight it will be trashed.

especially in the F-5C/E which are REALLY cold planes.

So far, I find that fighting against all aspect heaters and SARH missiles in the F-5C is a little silly

What works for me is flying flank around left side, go all the way behind the enemy lines, hit a base with 76 FFAR rockets and then turn in to the fight and see if I can get a snipe cannon kill or an unsuspecting heater kill

On average, my success rate is probably 40%, and average life expectancy is around 5-7 minutes
