Granted, I don't play Alpha Legion, but I feel like the low amount of line troops is very much an achilles heel of this army
You have a ton of dakka to be sure, but your ability to score points is easily shot off the board.
This is what I think at least
Oddly enough it wasnt the lack of line that hamstrung me, but a dedicated melee to stop dorn and his retinue. Went up against a list with Sigismund, Fafnir and Dorn with a 10 and 20 man phalanx warders, 10 templar brethren and 10 terminators
Took out a spartan, the 10 phalanx warder squad and had the bigger squad with fafnir almost down to half until I forgot about the IF advance reaction and moved my Interemptors to his reaction range and decided since it is the movement phase, I cant overwatch with the interemptors. Lost that combat, and on his turn the survivors turned around to charge my 10man headhunters left.
In the end it was 3 brethren, Sigismund, dorn and 2 terminators, 7 warders, fafnir and a deredeo left on his side. While mine had exodus, praetor, 2 recon squads and 2 contemptors left.
Definitely going to switch up some points to fill up the recons
Sure, but that is only one opponent here. If you go up vs a list with a lot of shooting (such as IW for instance), you can bet that is what they're going to do
But now that you mention it, there's a melee tarpit unit missing as well

Pretty simple plan, keep recons in the back line taking potshots at Characters. Praetor joins one of them while Exodus and Clawbeteur can split off or join a unit depending on my opponent deployment.
HH’s will infiltrate to take out key targets, using Warlord trait for redeployment to switch up as needed.
Just wondering if I should switch up points and models to have a melee unit (like the khenetai or locutarus). Not using Alpharius and Super heavies for now.
