#White Scars - 3000 points - First Ever List in HH

Hey everyone, there will be a lot of first time for me here : first time posting, first time creating an army list..
I mainly choose White Scars for the colour scheme and the look of the Ebon Keshig Squad, which are so doooope.
So I did a first list, trying to be a accurate as possible, since I am a noob in HH.
I'll gratefull to receive some feedback about what's good and bad, what do you think it's missing..
I still don't know which RoW I wanna play, so if you have any suggestions about it 😄
I mainly tried to choose the units about how they look and to fill different rolls on the battlefield (anti-infantery...), but I might need to add some anti-flyer

The list is atm at 2799 points :

Hey looks like a solid starting list, your a little light on anti-marine weapons. You’ve got a lot of bolter shots but some higher strength weapons would be nice.

If you tweak your points a little bit and drop some upgrades you should be a able to fit one of a 10 man support squad with volkite culverins or maybe auto cannons, a contemptor with double kheres, a 6 man scimitar jetbike squad with volkite culverins, or 2 kyzagan assault speeders.

The last two would be the fluffiest for WS but also the priciest until the get plastic jetbikes

Not really, but maybe I can use Pride of the Legion, so I have a slot for the leviathan

From what I can see here is you have a single Heavy Support, no Fast attack yet and a ton of Terminators you want the Pride of the Legion

But if you go with that, switch one of the Tactical squads to a Tactical Veteran unit

If you want anti air you could give the kheres contemptor a helical targeting array, so it doubles as anti-infantry and anti-air

After that I would pick a Fast attack, Kyzagans/Javelins are good there

And yeah good call on Pride of the Legion, pretty much slots into your list as is

Only thing I would do is include a single Veteran unit with a few special weapons, has 2 wounds, is scoring and most importantly WS5, which means that non-character non-special (Termie) units have a really hard time shifting them

Oh and nice shout on the targeting array. Planes can be a pain without Skyfire

And yeah I agree on a mix of power weapons for the vets

I am looking at Power Fist + 2 axes and chainswords, would have loved Thunder Hammers, but those are already on my termies and hammers are expensive

I also like to take a graviton gun on my vets, but that’s just cause I love them

10 claws murder anything up to Veteran tacticals, but don't do that much to Terminators and vehicles

You also want a bit more shooting in that list imo

I’d say drop 2 of your tac squads, and replace one with the veteran squad and use the remaining points on fist and chainfists on the tartaros

#

So then you’ve got 1 tac squad, 1 vet squad and both your terminator squads for scoring

Yeah they’re a great centrepiece unit, I used a custodes eagle banner for my command squad

Veterans are looking really strong, Line as well in PotL, but don't you think they're a bit too much added to 15 Tartaros ?

I mean you can keep them cheap, just stock with chainswords and bolters and then throw a power weapons or two if you’ve got the points

Then their basically just a better tac squad

But then I don't feel like 1x10 vet squad is worth more than 2x10 tac squad, cause you waste a bit of the WS 5.
Don't really know what to do with them :p

The things is for pride of the legion your two compulsory troop choices have to be either vets or termis

You could just take a 5 man squad to fill the requirement

Not only that

Because Vets have 2 wounds each, they stand in for 20 Tacticals

#

Add the WS5 and (hopefully) 3 special weapons per squad and chainswords on the rest and you kinda have a walking blender

#

But ideally, you have 3 line troops in your army, in your case:
1 squad of vets
1 squad of those Tartaros Termies
1 tactical squad

2-3 Power Axes and a Power fist on the sergent + chainswords on the rest of the squad can look cool

Do you generally use some upgrades on a Rhino or keep it stock ?

With Pride, your troops and elites are expensive enough as it is haha

#

Having said that, you could forgo the Rhino as we are the only Legion who can get away with that as we have +1 movement and +1 charge at base on everything

This of course goes up and up the more movement you have, e.g. our Golden Keshig have like +3 to charge because of their movement

I put a Cyber Hawk on my Chaplain with a combi plasma for the fun to go with the termi squad
