So i am starting out Death guard after did some research and checked out tons of painting tutorials, And the Flight of the Eisenstein did help a lot.

But i am not really sure on what i should build, i went with rule of cool of stuff.
have been checking out the rules a bit. But never played the game

The game group i did join mostly plays at 3000 points, With and Now i am sitting at 2258 points to my calculations.
Was thinking of dropping in some Contemptors as they look strong from what i can see.

When going for the Deathshroud bomb you will get great value from a Primus Medicae as very little in the game can Instant Death Deahthrouds, so they almost always get the FNP.
Also make sure to upgrade one of your Deathshrouds with the Legion Standard as it gives them Line.

Your Veterans should probably have a Rhino to cruise around in.

The list is overall lacking in Line as is. Tacticals are amazing in DG, always look to having at least 40 of them in any list of 2000 points and above. Since you have Chainbayonets on them you might as well go a bit further. Vexilla is a must on big units. Toxin Bombs is great on them if you're trying to get them in melee. Rad Grenade + Scythe on the Serg means he can actually threaten Terminators since a 6 to wound would mean Instant Death.

#

You should also put a Rad Grenade on your Praetor. Basically always have Rads along with Scythes for the Instant Death

#

Deathshrouds have enough attacks that they can easily threaten Terminators, both through Rending 6+ and just the threat of failing an armour save.

Deathshrouds are bad against other termies

slender violet
#

That is relative

#

With enough attacks and instant death they can be quite efficient

#

And since they don't get instant death'd in return they can endure a longer melee

#

WS 5 and a Chaplain in this case means you're getting a large hit rate followed by a large wound rate

#

Do the math, rending 6 suck. They are 70ppm. That's crazy high. They are only good against marines. But the list has enough ways to deal with them

#

I would take a terminator command squad with Thunderhammers

#

Deathshrouds are a brick. That's it

#

They are not a deathstar

#

They were rending 4 during the testing. That was a deathstar

slender violet
#

No one called them a Deathstar. All I'm saying is investing 10 points into Rad Grenades is a no-brainer as it allows you to threaten opposing Terminators and other multi-wound models. Never claimed they'd just waltz right through them

#

He did

slender violet
#

Well he did say "budget" deathstar

#

As in one that isn't really a deathstar

#

But can act like it

olive galleon
#

That's even worse lol. Deathshrouds are the most expensive Terminators in the game. He could have a real deathstar with 5 TH command squad termies

slender violet
#

Like as soon as Shrouds hit something with Sv3+ they will function as a deathstar and walk right through that unit

#

Alright, then disregard the whole "deathstar" name. It's a unit, it's beefy, it does Deathshroud things

olive galleon
#

Deathshrouds are good if you want an unmovable brick to stick on objective, as a retinue with a standard

#

If you want to hunt marines, Veterans with power lances are incredibly superior

#

And if you want to fight termies : melee Contemptors or command squad with TH

Thanks a lot for the help and all the info. Think i will need to revised the list a bit! just went rule of cool of most things.

I think, obviously, if you want the list to compete at a tournament, make some changes

#

This will be like... fine and fun for 'normal' or even narrative event based play
