basically I did what i always end up doing;
bring everything i find cool and slap it together
but do let me know what yall think
Looks good tbh putting down iron fire markers o'plenty though maybe split the rapier squad just so you can drop more markers but that's the only thing I got add to, though do wait for more opinions before throwing out any changes
I'm seeing 3 rapiers in one squad, could drop it to three squads of 1 for more markers, like was said. Remember you get 4 Elites compared to the usual 3 from 7-9th ed
Also, why Tartaros armour on the Warsmith opposed to AA+Iron Halo? Purely looks?
can't argue with that
but aside from that, its an ok list yeah?
Vexilla is fairly wasted, since it'd only be useful in CC, as you ignore casualties from shooting. Better use would be Nuncio Vox for less scatter/more LoS options for the rapiers
sorry if the advice is coming out a little scattered, brain isn't working at full speed
oh dude no worries
wait ok
so im a little new to HH. How do the Nuncio Vox help out my rapiers?
can be used to draw line of sight for artillery pieces, so if your tactical squad can see, but the rapiers can't, rapiers can use the Line of Sight from the tacticals to scatter with the BS reduction
works to make it almost no scatter ever when combined with Ironfire markers
Medusa's can also use them
if you fire with line of sight, you get to subtract your BS from the distance scattered, if you fire without LoS, you scatter the full ammount
yep
ah ok
👍
Also are tyrant siege Terminators ok?
They're very good
A few points;
The Ironfire doesn't require you to take a third compulsory Troop choice.
A Master of Signals is a good choice for the Ironfire as he'll put down another marker with his bombardment ability.
Tyrants are amazing but their main benefit is them all having Cyclone missile launchers, you want to be shooting with them every turn, they shouldn't really be put in a transport.
Unfortunately while extremely cool Iron Circle aren't very good. They don't have many attacks in CC and their shooting is pretty inconsequential.
No CC? They have those huge honking hammers. Even if they ain’t good I’m taking them anyway. I love giant murder bots
Drop the Vexilla (no unit if IW needs them), the AA, the Power Fists and Extra armor on those tacticals. That only makes them to expansive. Instead give every Rhino a Multimeter. Why a Spsrtan for Tyrants? They move on foot and start shooting turn one until they are dead. The Warsmith has no purpose in this list besides giving ROW. Replace him with a cheap Delegatus. You need "marker units". Meaning: fast moving units who are able to be inside enemy lines turn one. Contemptor Cortus/ Legion Dreadnought in Dreadclaw/ in Drop Pod, units in termite, Land Speeders (with going flat out instead of shooting), a single assault bike (same) or other deep strikers can all do the trick. With Ironfire it is important to start shelling your enemy from start and never stop. You want as many Ironfire markers on the Battlefield as possible so that you don't even scatter from turn two onwards
That's why drop pods are very effective for this ROW. Most enemies ignore them but they still count as a friendly unit for Ironfire. Obviously the feared Leviathan is as well great for this.
I am not a fan of the Armoured Ceramite on a Deredeo. He has rear armor 10 and AC won't help against deep striking units from behind. Instead place him (and any unit which your opponent wants to shoot in the rear with DS units) in front of a wall. That way his rear is safe.
Oh Iron Circle. I forgot about these. They have shit rules unfortunatly
Two attacks, slow. They won't reach CC you want them to have. Instead they'll probably lumber around and do nothing
Well how am I gonna keep them Alive from being bombarded to death?
Bombard the enemies arty first then try to shake the rest of their heavy fire power
If you deep strike something through a drop pod the enemies attention will be drawn to the drop pod instead
Wait I can put the termies in a drop pod?
That you can do, atleas inside a karybdis
or a dreadclaw
Are they separate options in like fast attack or something?
Dread claw is fast attack and can hold 5 termies
Karybdis is heavy support and can hold 10 termies
dreadclaw is a DT for terminator squads too
I forgot about that
but i didnt see the option for the Tyrants
tyrants aren't legion terminators
Understood
And it can skim
If there are not enough slots you can for a onslaught foc detachment but you will always go second
And no Rite of War
wait going back to earlier; wouldnt I want something to hold my back line, IE a tac squad?
cause someone said something about not needing my 3rd tac squad
not worth committing a unit to stay in your backfield
push up, be aggressive
and just leave your artillery in the backfield
Ah I didn't know rite of wars were restricted to certain force orgs
they are yes, only crusade force orgs
So dread claws are the alternative
ye
also im gonna take two Dominus armored siege bombard.
s
does that make me a dick?
I... don't know what that is. Where do I find these?
Wait how you fit 2
War machine detachment
my only worry is that i dont have enough stuff moving up the board. most of what i have is just sitting there
If you drop the useless stuff like extra armour on the rhinos or the spartan you could take the Fast units I already listed
Sabres are really good for Ironfire
they can nip up the board and spot for your artillery and are still fairly good with all volkite
Thx but in which book are they?
they're in an old imperial armour
dunno. im just using battlescribe
but are listed as something you can take in the LA book
their only easy source of rules is battlescribe, but they're in the list of superheavies you can take in the main book so they are legal
just old
mega old
Hm. I don't feel to good taking them just by BS
Agreed, but they are absolutely listed so you can take them. The BS rules are 100% correct though as I used to have the book when they were added
but moving flats it disappeared in transit
Yes sure. But still. In the end I just want that book because those books where crazy cool
the books are cool collectors items
But still are restricted by the usual LOW rules
question; is it worth switching my heavy bolter on the sabres for multi-meltas?
Yes
set up a new thread please @unreal sand
aye sir
Which models will you use for them by the way?
@winged hound probably upscaled aquitors
Oooooh 3d printing?
