I dont quite understand why you are taking 10 man grenadiers in this list instead of normal squads. 10 T3 4+ saves wont survive long enough to do anything, not even sit on objectives

They're just supposed to sit in the bastion while the whole rest of the army comes in.
I'm not sure if it's better to take the regular squads though, yeah. This is my first foray into Militia rules.

since you don't have access to Survivors of the Dark Age to give those guys a 3+, it would probably be better to make those the 20 man blobs to hold an area
Don't know how well the force commander would fare either, most other Astartes equivalents would mulch him before he could use that power fist and the power armor would most likely be negated
it's a lot of points to dump into a relatively subpar stat line

The general idea is to have the Bastion way back in my deployment zone with the Grenadiers, the enginseer operating the comms relay and repairing the Bastion if any hits get in, and the Earthshakers around the Bastion to put fire downfield.
The Xiphon exists to provide insurance from enemy fliers; everything else is meant to drive up the field as quickly as possible once it gets on, and then disembark or shoot into midfield.
Sky Seekers paint priority targets for the Omegas to get them hitting on 2s rerolling, so on.

Cutting the melee upgrades on the Force Commander paid for another 8 Grenadiers and two guys with plasma guns.
