Tweaked my old list to remove the knight and work a unit of Sun Killers in. Open to any suggestions!

  • praetor on outrider with the works

  • command squad on outriders (3 with power axes & shields, 2 with just power swords), with augury apothecary on bike.

  • 9 kakophoni & augury apothecary (rhino)

  • 9 kakophoni & augury apothecary (rhino)

  • cortus contemptor 2x grav fists (1 chainfist)

  • cortus contemptor 2x grav fists (1 chainfist)

  • 3 javelins (missiles & MM)

  • Kraken Lightning

  • Predator executioner (machine spirit, plasma & HK, no sponsons)

  • and the famous Sun Killers in their party bunker (ammo, void, comms)

I think the comms bunker allows me to reserve the javelins, lightning, and predator all with a bit more confidence. Will plan on setting it up as far back as possible with sight lanes while the relentless rhino kakophoni zoom towards targets/objectives/cover. the pair of contemptors more or less slot in for the knight lancer marching up the middle. Turn 2 the lightning and javelins bust open some armour and the executioner and kakophoni mop up. dreads probably die by this point with hopes that the command squad can go hunting to set up a praetor duel for epic glory.

Honestly the list seems pretty decent, though depending on the board you play on your ROI for the Sunkillers will vary greatly. As for the augury scanner on the command squad apoth...cheap infiltrator protection? 7 TL Boltguns isn't really an Interceptor threat

Guys in the bunker technically don't exist, like guys in a transport.

Can't be targeted for shooting, so on, so forth.

Typically when a unit is embarked in a transport or the interior of a fortification, all interactions outside of said transport/fortification shut off

ahh that makes sense. and the battlements stuff is based on actual model interaction

so id need to pop them out for turn 2 in order to be near it. but that means theyd be moving and shooting for 2 turns, so not really a good option

More specifically, you don't need the void shield because they can't be shot inside the bunker anyway.

I did admittedly buy a void shield for my ridiculous mechanicum + dreadwing list with 10 plasma cannon HSS in an ammo dump bunker, though.

already so invested into these sun killers with the bunker, i think id sooner trim the comms and forget it than cut all three javelins or the lightning in order to find techmarine & servitor points

Though it does get way cheaper if you only want the techmarine (45pts) and default bolter servitors (12ppm)

how do people normally man the battlement gun emplacements? i imagine the entire unit has to either be in or out?

Yeah, units cannot voluntarily split up and if they're forced to they have to use all available movement to regroup first

You buy rad grenades on the techmarine for +10pts, then each missile launcher servitor can add rad missiles for +10ppm

4x rad missiles at BS3 feels kinda similar to 3 shots from my plasma predator at BS4 ap2, but the bunker can drive (without repairs tho)

Technically, it's a Land Raider with better BS, ignores cover, and more lascannons!

im tempted to forego the invuln and run 10 palatines (5 spears / 5 power swords) out of a dreadclaw. ive got the models and its nice fluffy choice. WS5 and an extra attack for the sword guys. maybe wont need the invuln since i should be swinging at i5 on the charge. plus the dreadclaw can do some fair burning. Can fit that with the 10 tacs with AA.

the hope would be to pop the opposing spartan with my anti armour and mop up the contents with the 5 spears and praetor/cmd squad. shoot everything else with the kakophoni out of rhinos. contemptors (or a knight lancer) charge towards a good target. Predator zooms 12" and drops little blasts on any 2+ units.
