The new battle force may help I use everything that it includes

This is just a personal thing but you could put the castllax in the Apex so they could get paragon

marsh sand
#

Agreed. If you take Command Maniple that gets you a Paragon of Metal in the Domitar unit, the Castellax Unit, and a Thanatar

#

That opens up a lot of slots too, so you can use your Prime on the Magos to give him Paragon of Battle for added stats. I'd also give him a Thunderhammer while you are at it.

#

Mauler Castellax work better in big units, I would merge them to a block of 6

#

I'd also drop one Magos and beef up your Castellax or Echidnax unit

#

(Moving to 3k) I'd definitely recommend getting at least 1 if not 2 more Domitar to beef that unit up

#

Okay, yeah that makes enough sense to me, though I’m not sure if I would value a Thanatar over a Moriax this edition, especially if I’m not worrying about the physical cost.

#

Is there any reason why you’d recommend either Thanatar over either of the Moirax options I have?

oblique moat
#

I recommend keeping the lightning locks one, even though I would prefer a krios. But the thanatars can annihilate most vehicles

#

Annihilate might be a strech

marsh sand
#

I was gonna say 🙂

#

Moiraxes are fine. They are not very tanky for what you are paying for them, basically being Contemptors but with 3+ saves.

#

The Volkite is quite unimpressive.

#

But the Claws will Mulch vehicles. You don't want them fighting anything else though

edgy tulip
#

Yeahh.. the Volkite is unfortunately a guilty pleasure

oblique moat
#

I can't blame you volkite is fun to roll

edgy tulip
#

Yeah the claws are my “anti” av14

marsh sand
#

The Thanatar on the other hand is very tanky on all parameters, but the Sollex-Las is swingy and you usually need to invest in 2 Calixes and buff them to reliably remove Proteuses.

#

And I still wouldn't try to remove Kratoses with them

#

Buff as in give them guide, and attach a character with an Augury Scanner

#

One Smokescreen is out of the picture, things get much better 🙂

#

It is quite an investment though

#

Love me thanatars

#

Thanatar Calix are solid, chunky anti-tank, and also just cool

drowsy hollow
#

I adore my 10 model brick of them

edgy tulip
#

Then should I pair my magos up then? I know if I add one cybertheurgist to a unit I can buff my roll, so is it worth it?

marsh sand
#

Not worth it imo

#

Put a Magos and a Priest in the Castellax unit and you get the bonus

#

The second Magos can go with Echidnax

#

Archmagos can go with Domitars
