I'm new to 30k and am looking for like a small ish 1000-2000pts army of IFs. I currently have 20 tactical marines, a contemptor and a command squad but was confused by some of the command stuff in the detachment building tools. I would like to include some terminators, which from my understanding I need to use a prime command slot to fit it into a primary detachment, but I have no clue which commanders would fit best into an IF army lore wise, of if it even makes a difference. Any help would be appreciated.

So if you want terminators, out legion detachment includes a slot for them

Commander wise? Up to you

we have our named charecters (Fafnir, Siggy, Dorn, Polux, Diaz, and Evander) if you want to make a thematic force

and praetors/centurions are hyper customizable and can do whatever you want

I am very tempted to get one of the resin models but I'm mostly worried about the prep that you need to do for them. I have done a fair amount of hobbying for 40k and kinda want to get something but I'm unsure about all of the maintenance.

I’ve only worked with recasts, but honestly it’s pretty easy

Wash it with hot water and soap before assembling and you’re good

no worries, I avoided working with Resin for the longest time, and then I realized it really wasn't that bad

#

its worse then plastic since you gotta do a bit more for it, but its not too bad

#

also, make sure to rough up the connection points with a hobby knife before glueing, otherwise it's a bitch to get things to stick
