Under most circumstances I would recommend brutes over lesser daemons. But if you just need cheap line that will will weather a bit of fire, it can work.
But I think a big blob of corrupted tacticals would do the job a bit better.
Honestly, the list looks pretty decent. You’ll want to keep the Mhara Gals away from your daemons and corrupted units, but that’s fine. And you certainly will not lack scoring with five line units, unless your esoterists get sniped very early on.
You likewise have a good selection of anti-personnel and anti-tank weapons available to you, which will make scoring those DB stacks easier.
My only concern is that your Praetor and his Tartaros retinue are footslogging. Even though they can run, and DB stacks will make them faster, they’re still out in the open and exposed to enemy fire. A 2+/5++ is great until you fail a single save from an S8+ weapon and/or get buried under dice from a volkite firing squad
As Verdi said, Tacs are likely a better investment than Lesser Daemons, but lessers can at least be summoned a pretty good distance and thus hot drop onto objectives far away from the summoner if needed, and can charge afterwards
For HQ choices you could probably also grab a Sovereign. They are good.
But that is entirely up to you, Mahar Gal will probably do the job.
Without Erebus/Lorgar, you can only bring 0-3 Troops/Elites
Yee true.
Erebus would be a worthy replacement for the Praetor though.
Or unworthy replacement I suppose. 😉
Yeah those would be preferable to get the big guys but my area doesn't allow named characters for events and such
Understood. Then I at least recommend a squad of brutes.
They are quite solid and difficult to remove.
Also WS5, so they can go toe-to-toe with most legion specific elites.
Very true
I'll look into the Tactical mobs
Maybe 1 lesser demon sqaud
@karmic pebble For the mob would you recommend upgrades or keep them barebones
Mob? You mean mobility
My bad I'm talking about big blob of Tacticals
