Greetings all,

Just contemplating an optimized list for my Iron Warriors (hence the sarcastic title).

Joking aside, it is improbable that I'll actually use the list as-is (I like my friends), but am using this as an exercise in trying to figure the most optimal way to build the Legion.

Would appreciate constructive feedback and improvements to the list, thank you!

Hammer of Olympia (1999 Points)
Praetor (Warlord, Tyrant of Lyssatra) - Cataphractii, Thunder Hammer, Disintegrator Combi-Weapon
Herald - Cataphractii, Chainfist, Standard

Contemptor - Lascannon, Fist
5 Dominators - Reaper Autocannon
Land Raider Proteus transport

13 Tacticals - Shrapnels, Vexilla, Artificer Armor on Sergeant
10 Tacticals - Shrapnels, Vexilla, Artificer Armor on Sergeant

5 Iron Havocs - Lascannons
8 Tyrant Siege

You could probably cut 3 Tyrants for another squad of tacticals, also the autocannon isn’t a great weapon for Dominators go multi-melta or stick with combi-bolters.

If you cut 3 tyrants, the reaper autocannon, and make the 13 tac squad into a 10 man squad. You can put Artificer armor and an Augury scanner on the Havocs, and take 2 Apothecaries in artificer armor

So you can run 3 10 mans

or if you like you could run two twenty man tac squads

Yup that's accurate! It works out to just about 32 tactical and 2 apothecaries

Is it worth attaching an apothecary to the havocs?

I guess it's also possible to do 2x10 tacticals in Rhino's instead of 3x10

I prefer to have my apothecaries in my Tac squads for that 4+FNP when near objectives

Don't forget to add searchlights on all your vehicles

I know it seems useless if you never play night fighting missions, but if you ever play against Night Lords you'll be happy you payed the points

The reroll 1s to hit affects all shrapnel weapons, so once you drop off the tac squads you can use the rhinos as mobile pinning units

Havocs are more cost efficient with autocannons and with the legion rule they can be almost as effective as lascannons

You may not get much chance to shoot with the autocannon on the Dominators if they are being ferried in the raider. You could drop it to free up points.
