The goal is maximum vibes, effectiveness is a distant second.

  • artificer armour
  • 2x lightning claws
  • 3x power axe

10 tactical support squad

Lmk what's cool, what could be axed, what cool inclusions could be

#

General rules:

  • no terminators
  • very few dreads
  • can't see a justification for legion specific units
  • gimme early crusade formations/wargear

#

idk if malcadors were discovered yet

#

also, more volkite

#

it saw more use in the early great crusade than the late, production needed scaling down due to the cost

#

it's a shame you can't do volkite line troops

quartz hill
#

malcadors are listed as an age of strife/unification wars era tank so they are 100% legal for this list

placid terrace
#

oh cool

vague agate
#

Yeah malcadors were early work horses

#

Yeah wish I could jam more volkite in. My understanding is that they were the main line weapon for legions before they were replaced by bolters

earnest bison
#

Correct.

vague agate
#

Might swap the speeders to double volkite, and try scrounge some points for volkites on the command squad

vague agate
#

Love it. Swapped the plasma for volkite on the speeders and gave enough points to buy volkite for the 4 chosen in the command squad ChefsKiss

And pay for the search light on the LR I forgot to include 😬

spark bobcat
#

Better would be paying the same 2ppm as breachers to swap bolters for volkites, but that might be undercosted for tacs

#

Personally it feels light on transports, but I'm a nutcase who tries to put everything in a transport or deep strike, so that's a "me" problem

vague agate
#

The 20 man blobs need Spartans or bust and I'm not paying for those there'll be nothing left for the rest of the army. Otherwise, assault squad has jump packs, and the other infantry are in tanks?

True enough. I'm just used to maxing out my troops slots or nearly maxing them

spark bobcat
opaque marlin
#

They're not very commonly used as most RoWs bar their use (they lose the hexagrammation so they're not a valid troops choice), but they're cool.

spark bobcat
#

Yeah, with six rites to pick from I can't imagine most DA play riteless

opaque marlin
#

Which you usually can't pick because everyone hates you for it

opaque marlin
spark bobcat
#

I believe they're running Iron Hands

opaque marlin
#

I assumed that from the cyber-familiar, but the havocs confused me

spark bobcat
#

It's a panoptica list, but I'm not familiar with those units

#

I figure they're multi-legion instead of Iron Warriors?

#

No idea though

opaque marlin
#

Maybe some more officers? They'd probably have less troops but more experienced ones from the unification wars

#

Things like centurions, apothecaries, or techmarines

vague agate
#

I was thinking the other way. The legions were operating in large formations so big blobs of troops. And less officers/specialists be ause they haven't been around as long as the legions post ullanor/during the heresy

I'm pretty happy with the praetor. Paragon blade and archaeotech pistol are pretty good great crusade vibes

#

And a heroic astartes praetor with a big ol cape leading the crusade is pretty strong visually

spark bobcat
#

My favorite artist depiction of an archaeotech pistol was just Dirty Harry's .44 Magnum scaled up to a Space Marine's hand lol

#

Also some centurions would be fun

#

Maybe a siegebreaker or a TBC

#

Siegebreaker for the fun, great crusade breaking fortresses flavor, and also to give the c beamers sunder

#

And terran born crusader for... the obvious flavor

vague agate
#

Question is what to cut for them

worthy wind
#

uhhhhhh

#

Take away a medusa

vague agate
worthy wind
#

Look you can live with just having one medusa

#

It's ok

#

It's fine

spark bobcat
#

You could cut the fighter

vague agate
#

Shit okay Terran born crusaders are actually really strong

#

Preferred enemy and stubborn on a stick 🤌

worthy wind
#

It's like chaplains or armistos but for most units

vague agate
#

Where's good to put him though?

#

Maybe with the volkite?

#

Could give him a jump pack. That would be very crusader-y

worthy wind
#

Wounds on 2s, but now you re-roll 1s

#

Very fun

vague agate
#

Had a play with the list. Dropped both medusas (one by itself would be lonely 💔) and added a Terran born crusader and some plasma cannon jetbike friends

I'm guessing Terran-born crusaders are another panoptica thing?

vague agate
#

Yep

#

+30 points, you get stubborn, preferred enemy (traitors), a master crafted weapon and adamantium will

#

Outrageous

vague agate

Sorry by play I mean, I rejigged the list a bit. This is a hypothetical list until I finally grow up and have a go at TTS
