#2500 Dark Mechanicum + Allie

Hi there! I need your help and opinion on the following list. It’s for a 2500 point narrative event. My theme is a fringe forgeworld where a lone small group of iron hands succumbed to the ruinous powers and allied with a psychopathic magos to build horrible daemon/tech stuff. My main goal is the modelling and painting, but I don’t want to be decimated every game.

So my questions are:

  1. are there any errors in the list making it not legal?
  2. can I actually compete at least 1/3 of the time? Winning is not my main goal, but I don’t want to be mopped up every game, even in a narrative event.

This looks super cool. Great theme and great units.

Consider taking ruinstorm demon brutes in the IH elite slot rather than troops. They don't score anyway and the ruinstorm bros get +1ws which is pretty big.

Where is the esoterist gonna go? ATM he'll take the benefits of heavy away from the breachers/myrms and only get the draw backs (slow af). I've found with my esoterist that I like him to be as mobile as possible so he can PokeBall the demons wherever he wants. Consider putting a jump pack on him? So he can fly around with some thallax maybe?

I'm in love with the list. It's very similar to my traitor hands/mech list in terms of esoterist to summon demons, demon engines, myrmidax. Great to see cool combinations like this in the wild

I’ll switch out the demons to the elite slot.
The idea behind the esoterist was to model him like a mix between a praevian and a esoterist and keep him in the breacher squad to waddle down the midfield and take objectives and call his buddies for help if needed. The breachers would be modeled like little automata with cyborg heads. Perturabo has his big robots, the esoterist gets his little ones (formerly known as space marines).
But losing the heavy is a downside…I could try and put him in gorgon armor maybe?

I really like the modelling opportunities and the overall theme. Do you have finished your list?

It's not the end of the world if you lose heavy, but it is something the breachers rely on I think. Gorgon armour would be sweet tho, great modelling opportunity

I normally run IH as my primary as that's my main army. Without listing all the upgrades, my list generally goes something like:

IH:
Master of signals - WL: stoic defender or eye of vigilance if I'm really mean (goes with dark fire myrms)
Esoterist - jump pack

2x apothecary - 1x jump pack
6x ruinstorm demon brutes

15 assault marines
20 tacs
5 sniper recons

Fire raptor gun ship

Mech:
Myrmidax archmagos - incubanalum jet pack, artificia machina, all the toys

5 thallax

3 conversion beamer myrms
6 dark fire cannon myrms

Kytan demon engine

Would love to pick up a decimator to put in there. Hanging out for the new mech book to run Scion of Sarum on a mech WL and run a bunch of blood slaughterers too

Thanks a lot. But I guess my List has enough teeth to actually do something.

There is some AP3 and some AP2. The Thallax with line are reasonably easy to hide, the decimator packs a punch.

Guess I’ll give it a go and make this my project ☺️
