Hello <@&877302968955850772>, I'm trying to grow my force in line with our local slow grow. I've got plenty of options but would appreciate some thoughts on gap filling.

I'm currently sitting on around 2400ish, and have some flex on what to add.

I have a couple of restrictions/notes:

  • Can't go hard on T7+ wounds (~1 per 100pts)
  • No super heavies
  • Immortals can use chain bayonets

Looks like a fine list, where does the iron father go? He's not a great fit with the Gorgons as he removes their ability to sweeping advance.

I'd look at morlocks for your iron father and a ride for them. Other than that maybe a ride or two for the immortals

Probably going to shove him into some immortals. The other option I had was to replace him with a jump pack praetor and some destroyers for vibes

4 scoring at 3k is fine if you're playing rulebook missions. If you're playing siege of Cthonia then yeah I'd bump the scoring up

Mobility in your scoring would be my primary concern cos they're all walking and they're all heavy so can't run. Thus recommendation for rides

Is it survivability or mobility? I was thinking of meming and running a scimitar squad with a herald for late game zooms

Some of the things I’d consider adding are Morlocks for your Iron Father to give him a more suitable escort; and a Warmonger for your Gorgons to create a Gorgonbomb - really great bit of synergy there in creating some deep strike pressure and in capitalising on Gorgon armour

Thought of leveraging the "give an IC bitter duty" a bit to embed some scary dudes into your Immortals ?

If the medusan's are footslogging, it might be worth trading the Sicaran for a Land Raider Carrier? Means you have one footslogging unit of Immortals for stay-at-home objs; and have a transport to get unit 2 further up. Unless your game plan is for your assaults to hold no mans whilst your immortals walk there which is also viable?

I really wanted the assault marines to be destroyers but I thought it might be getting too expensive for a unit

I was hoping to avoid multiple raiders, as good as they are, but I suspect dual raiders is the way

Take this with a salt grain, i've never used jetbikers so it's just theory. In my opinion, they're kinda antithesis to eachother? You want your jetbikes to be consistantly jumping around as they're one of the few fast units you have, but the herald encourages them to park up somewhere

I think that's pretty fair, I thought I'd use them as a 1 turn in-lieu unit while the masses slog up a bit

That could work for sure, though since the sloggers can't run due to heavy my worry would start being that unless they have a taxi they'd struggle to hoof it up the board in time; I think assault marines do a good job at that for cheaper

it's contemptors that are the main issue due to their rediculuosly low price floor

I think sticking some rad launchers in the destroyer block is a good shout too; 2 small blast AP3 shots means you'll be killing an average of 5 power armour models who are trying to push you; takes some pressure off the destroyers whilst the Immortals slog up

you could go 1 step further, and take a primus medicae as well and glue him to that block too

Give both the Herald and the Primus Medicae a power maul and bobs your uncle, we love leveraging ID from rad grenades

(offnote, but i'll also assume that you're play group allows the use of bayonets on immortals? RAW they can't fyi! (which is stupid))

When developing it into the future, might be worth squeezing apothecaries in for the bikes and the assaults, maybe techmarines too if you're a fan but I know they're an acquired taste
