My experience with Fulmentarus is if you are in melee with them, you are losing. Spending points on making their melee marginally better is not worth it. I only do a thunder hammer on the SGT, which is mostly for looks, he never gets to use it. Putting some of those points into 5 hammers into the suzerain will make them capable of fighting a dread. You can successfully charge a one fist Contemptor and lose 2-3 and kill him in exchange. If you combo in your right of war WS bonus you should only lose 1.

Also the point savings probably pays for you to upgrade your Contemptor to lascannons which will be a big help.

You can save 300 points in tactical marines and instead take a Locutarus squad. Trim your praetor to a cataphractii one and you can take a beefed out squad.

The Praetor was suppose to go with the Suzerains

The praetor doesn’t have heavy. You are also spending a lot of points on things he doesn’t need. He has a 4++ invuln always. The shield is just extra points. You can model him with one if you want for the looks, but don’t pay extra points for it.

That praetor would strip the suzerains of their heavy bonus but make them keep the negatives.

The medicae needs the heavy keyword too.
