<@&877303441716809749> saw in other threads doing this helps

I'd mix up the rampager weapons a bit, just falax blades is a little dull

quasi jungle
#

Are you married to any of your HQ choices? Namely the Chaplain or Librarian? Also, are you running "The Crimson Path" or "Beserker assault"?

quasi jungle
#

Because Berserker Assault is the one that makes Rampagers troops, while "The Crimson Path" makes them Line, but they stay Elites.

quasi jungle
#

Alright, I'd switch one of them out for a Forgelord (probably the Librarian), and get him to back-up your Temis and Spartan. (I'm going with the assumption that you bough the starter box)

sacred river
#

Librarian wouldn't be what I'd call very world eatery

quasi jungle
#

Forgelords are rather unassuming combat monsters.

late scaffold
#

theres one in the books

#

Vorias

sacred river
#

They were all basically gone by the mid point of the shadow crusade, they are the most hated people in the legion

late scaffold
quasi jungle
#

The Machinator Array essentially gives the Forge Lord an Extra attack, as well as a flamer and Meltagun.

#

And they have no other restrictions in terms of wargear.

sacred river
#

But yeah, if you are going early HH or not too fussed on theme the Libby makes a brutal force multiplier for WE

quasi jungle

sacred river
#

Ooooff not a great group then, WAAC and 30k do not go together 🤣

quasi jungle
#

If you want to keep the Librarian, i'd suggest swaping the chaplain for the forge-lord then.

late scaffold
#

there are some fluff lists, but we have other people with iron warrior deathstars and others running several dreads so i dont feel bad about a libby xD

quasi jungle
#

(Suggestion, you can get an easy machinator array through the Techpriest Enginseer)

late scaffold
#

plus he can be my lonely terran born reminant

quasi jungle
#

If everyone spams dreads, then they can fall to their hubris.

sacred river
#

Well if you have some waac fury of the ancients people, max falax blades will make them cry

#

Which they deserve

quasi jungle
#

All Falx blades, give all your cataphractii Thunder Hammers.

#

Power Swords on sergeants (best odds of hurting a dread)

#

And thunderhammers wherever you can stick them.

sacred river
#

Power fist would probably be better vs a dread, fishing for 6s on a power sword isn't good into dreads

quasi jungle
#

You get 4 elites slots, so take an Apothecary detachment, load them with thunder-hammers and put them in your Rampager/Tactical squads.

sacred river
#

Or just say fuck it and don't play that person, bot worth the hassle

quasi jungle
#

Putting thunder-hammer apothecaries allows you to run even Tac-squads into dreads and do some damage, using the tac squad as ablative wounds, and with +5 fnp they'll stick around. Sort of the same deal with rampagers, but not as much. You'll win most melee dread-on-dread fights because +1 attacks on the charge, but don't be afraid to throw the tac squads in there.

sacred river
#

The 5+ fnp doesn't matter vs dreads but they'll shrug off some random bolter shots

quasi jungle
#

That's the point of the talons.

late scaffold
#

thats still dreads, rampagers, rampagers, cataphractii

#

since i value line over troop

quasi jungle
#

Ah, right... hrm...

late scaffold
#

unless i did 1 massive unit of them, but thats over kill

quasi jungle
#

Imma be honest, maybe drop a rampager squad and focus on tac-squads with apothecary thunder-hammers (or despoilers) in them.

#

It really depends on how many dreads they usually run.

#

Because at the end of the day the Rampagers can only kill one-at-a-time, and for the same points you can get tac/desp/assault squads with thunder-hammer apothecaries embedded in them.

#

If they still only run a couple dreads, then two-rampagers would be fine, but if they're runing 4-5-6+ then you need as many hammers as you can get.

#

Also, on kharn you might want to keep "the cutter" because that weapon is more effective against dreads.

sacred river
#

Not every unit needs to kill dreads, gorechild is better overall

#

Kharn wants to be swatting away elite squads

quasi jungle
#

True. As I said, how far you go with it really depends on how bad the Dread Spam is.

sacred river
#

If its that bad, not worth playing the game

quasi jungle
#

It is simply to send a message that you won't put up with their BS and to flatten their WAACy Skew list.

late scaffold
#

yeah not every list is a dread list

#

and we dont tailor lists

#

so gonna keep gorechild

quasi jungle
#

In that case, absolutely pull it back

#

keep the Rampagers etc.

#

But I would definitely swap the Chaplain for a Forge-lord in either case.

late scaffold
#

i cant fit the forge dude in, but i can do something like

Besides his base abilities and weapons, his machinator array gives him two S+1 Ap2 with Shred and Armorbane(melee)

quasi jungle
late scaffold
#

havent got the book to hand, how much is the machinator array?

#

15?

He can also take a Cyber-familiar for an Invuln bouns for 15pts, and a Cortex Controller for 15pts (if you ever want to add some thallax down the road)

late scaffold
quasi jungle
#

I know, I just mean down the line you might want to do some shake ups.

#

Experiment a bit. Not now, it's just there as an option.

late scaffold
#

they are fine as troops in mechanicum, but legion elite slots to me are so valuable xD

#

if i wanted them id ally them in tbf

quasi jungle
#

That's a fair point. Still could be usefull in that situation, because he can make sure they stay in line.

#

Either way, besides the point.

late scaffold
#

they arent automata

#

so his cortex wouldnt do anything

#

they are cyborgs ^^

quasi jungle
#

Either way, Forgelord is a combat beast and absolutely a worthy addition to a WE army, especially backing up termies and the Spartan.

#

Load him out either with Cadere weapons or twin power-weapons, whichever you prefer!

#

I've got mine with a Maul and a Lance. (Lance hand magnetized for axe or sword as needed)

late scaffold
#

was in the faq

quasi jungle
#

I'd at least take chainaxe. Chainsword comes with the Centurion, and we get free chainaxes.

#

Plus the Chainaxe+pistol gets you a extra attack.
