I’d like to propose a new game mode that brings structured PvP progression to complement the current extraction-based gameplay.
The idea is to introduce a PvP currency system that allows players to purchase gear from a dedicated vendor. This gear would be earned using in-game PvP currency and used specifically for competitive modes such as 3v3 arenas or 8v8 battlegrounds. While I enjoy the survival elements of the extraction experience, sometimes players just want to queue up and jump straight into PvP action—without worrying about losing their progress or loadout.
To tie this mode into the existing ecosystem, the PvP currency could be earned through extraction-based gameplay. For example, defeating high-tier bosses or eliminating other players could grant currency rewards, encouraging risk-versus-reward decision-making. The gear purchased with this currency would be exclusive to ranked PvP formats and cannot be lost or used in extraction—ensuring it’s balanced and focused on competitive fairness.
To keep progression meaningful, this system could reset each season. Players would grind out gear tokens each season to qualify for ranked battlegrounds or arenas, fostering a healthy competitive environment and giving everyone a fresh start.
Maybe this is a bad idea however I wanted to pose this as a question for the devs would this work? Would the community enjoy something like this?
