#NPM is timing out. How do I fix that?

I've reinstalled entirely, purging any npm or node-related directories and reinstalled from nvm multiple times, reboots in between. Not sure what else to try, but I'm facing this issue:

npm verb audit error FetchError: request to https://registry.npmjs.org/-/npm/v1/security/audits/quick failed, reason: Socket connection timeout

Aaaand nvm, seems that my internet decided to not load some stuff

We had an outage last night -- but the internet is back up. And not sure how to fix it.

I've flushed my iptables and reset all the network settings I can find. Nobody else is having issues
