Our mix and match centerfielder trent grisham was lightning in a bottle and since cooled off PROPERLY because he was never that good and should have been expected to play well all year. We have TWO healthy starting pitchers and our bullpen is all but injured. No one in the bullpen is reliable to throw a single shut out inning. There isn't a single bullpen arm where you can say "yeah they've got this inning locked up". We don't have a locked in arm. Haven't had one for a while.
So yeah...this is a horriblly put together team, and as someone who doesn't watch this team everyday and only sees their record, it's understandable you don't get why I talk about our team like this. This team WAY OVERPERFORMED the first quarter of this season. We should never have been in first place with this team. We've only stayed relevant this long because Aaron Judge was the hottest player on the planet for so long.
tldr; Our team has higher expectations than yours because it's New York and standards are higher here than anywhere else because of our history of winning. Sue me
