Its cause all the non shinies reset when you fast travel or sit on a bench

Everything on the map rolls a 1 in 4096 every time you reload the area

And you can have up to 10 shinies loaded in at a time

That too once you have a shiny it’s there permanently so not only are you seeing several Pokemon at once but if any Pokemon on the map happens to be shiny it’s locked in

PLZA is actually the first pokemon game I got on launch day and I don’t think I’m gonna get a new pokemon game on launch day again

Usually I like to get games at launch because experiencing them with other people I feel like usually makes them more fun

like you see a really cool new thing and then you talk about it with other people

However, I feel like the pokemon community is so toxic that talking to people about new pokemon games just isn’t fun

I always thought the pokemon haters were a vocal minority but even people I know irl who are interested in pokemon just hate on every possible thing

even communities that people call “bad” like the deltarune community don’t do this

it’s just not fun to play a game knowing that people are judging me for buying it even though I like the game

also I never understood why people expect AAA games to be better than indie games even though that very rarely happens

like I get that they have higher budget but they also have to pay hundreds or even thousands of devs

I just don’t want to deal with the pokemon community getting in my head again so I think in the future I’ll wait a month or two after launch to play the games

fwiw i think there surely must be positive pockets of community for this game, i've barely played any pokemon (went on here now to see what the vibes of what you all thought was because i was considering getting it) so i'm not in the pokemon community, but i'm getting algorithmed quite a lot on twitter and youtube shorts (i assume because of general nintendo stuff) and it's been 99% positive

on the day the game came out there seemed to be a lot more negativity but the general vibe i'm seeing is that it starts off super slow and the further you get the better it is so that makes sense?

i actively mute people and tell algorithms to "don't show more like this" when stuff's tired and copied and pasted rage bait though, would recommend doing that if you're not already

even on twitter where they're actively tuning the algorithm to far right radicalise everyone with hate i find that it's broadly possible to push feeds towards more positivity (or at least original/nuanced/interesting negativity)

Pokémon has always been formulaic mostly with gyms and the E4 but it’s especially noticeable in this game where you keep doing the same rouge megas, get a challenger ticket, for some reason you have to do something before the promotion match, the promotion match actually happens loop

That being said I don’t mind it’s still a fun game

I liked the terrain in SV and the terrain in Legends Arceus

The terrain in this game is just very bland

I finally found Hawlucha it turns out rare rooftop Pokemon sometimes will roll a common encounter in this case a Pidgey even if you find their spawn. I’d definitely just use a guide if you intend to go rooftop hunting yourself
