My parents PC randomly stopped booting up a week ago and I've been trying to figure out how to recover the data off of the drive. I've only tried out recuva, test disk/photorec, disk drill, easy us and a little bit of data recovery Studio but they kept freezing on me and didn't work well on my 128gb 3.0 flashdrive. But what I forgot to investigate is that the drive I'm trying to recover from doesn't have a partition anymore but the drive is still healthy so I'm only trying to figure out which is the best software to recover singular movies, videos, documents and other files easily before I reformat it fully and overwrite the old partitions.
#Trying to figure out which recovery software I should use so I don't waste anymore time.

Run r-studio or stellar in a winpe
That way it's not using your computers hard drive and running from memory
@gusty spear If you move the drive to another computer for recovery, does it still freeze?
I think the computer may have a ram issue it's got 16gb of ram but only reading 8gb
🤨 Yeah, you'd want a solid system while recovering. You might have to spend time removing/swapping/testing RAM. If R-studio can't find it, then the next step is paid-for professional. Thx @wide acorn
