I received this error when trying to boot up the game, I tried to restore the save data, but I think I messed up and now I don't think I have my original save, and I can't figure out how to just delete my existing save data.

If you never made a backup of your original save you will more than likely have to start new. Also you'll have to disable cloud saving for the game to make a new save for the game. Which I made a super quick handy guide on how to do that. Once you have the new save you should be fine to re-enable cloud saving once you close the game.

Just to follow up on this. Deleting your save file does not actually get rid of your relics, keys, or unlocked whips. Those are stored server-side, so yea, feel free to just disable cloud save and delete the whole "Saved" Folder (or rename it if you don't wanna delete it right away) and then just start your game without it.
