#Display pin name when hovering over it

Shift-hovering an IO pin should show its name. When creating control units with a lot of outputs, it's impossible to understand which pin is which as the infographic you get at the bottom of the screen has blurry text ad it has to be fit into a small area.

In my experience, Component Preview is not an effective solution for large components with many pins. As show in the attached screenshot, the pin labels are illegible. Also, UI Scaling doesn't seem to apply to pin labels in the preview; even if it did, that wouldn't greatly improve it's efficacy.

Configuring the text direction within each pin becomes time consuming. Especially, when trying to fine-tune the physical pin layout of a component, with changes in positioning commonly requiring reconfiguration of pin label direction. While I would still probably put in that time and effort for the ascetics, I would also greatly appreciate a pin on-hover label overlay.

Thoughts on potential solutions
I'm not sure if a pop-up overlay works better with a fixed UI position or one relative to the mouse cursor.

  1. The existing UI displays the name of components on-hover in the upper-left; adding pins to display their label in this same place would be the simplest to implement and benefits from existing player training.
  2. Since player focus is likely at the cursor, displaying the information near the visual focal point has some merit. However, it may not out-way the costs to implement and creates additional UI challenges. Such as, blocking schematic visibility and jitter/shaking.

I recommend option 1: it has the greatest cost/benefit ratio and would greatly improve QoL.

I would love for the component preview to be zoomable and pannable tbh
