I am guessing you are using analog. It doesn't matter what uart you are using for gps. Any free uart would work as long as it is free. The digital plug sometime have a specific uart that has another copy in the flight controller. Make sure you didn't connect another device to it.

ive got a matek wte and it does not have a port for the vista

so i just connected it to a random uart

#

and it all works so as long as you point betaflight towards it then it will all work
