I recorded some footage on my gopro hero 9 in 4k/60fps but whenever I move it onto my pc the quality drops dramatically, I've had SD card issues in the past; could that be an issue?
And if so is there any way to recover the footage?

What SD card are you using?

It could be it has too little write bandwidth to support 4k
