#Solved - Drone flying in public areas & license question

Depends on where you live, so check laws for that. But generally, make sure your equipment is reliable and you feel confident sending your craft away. As a rule of thumb, if you're afraid to fly over water, don't fly over people, roads, or anything like that. Test for desyncs, know what your radio system is capable of and your expected video range. Have a backup plan. 👍
Thanks.
I'm not at my computer but I'll mark this as solved when I can, unless anyone has anything else I should know.
Similar to what glitch said too:
in my experience I tend to play it safe. If I don't have a super specific reason to fly over water I just don't
i'm also not going to be 'that guy' who whizzes by people's heads with a loud quad. I don't fly over or near people. Picking a good place to fly also brings up that question of "how many people will I be near?" I wouldnt fly (unless its the only place you can) in a super public park where there are people, peoples' kids and dogs etc.
I fly on weekends at around office buildings' parking lots and near some tree farms sometimes the park IF there are not too many people. I fly with another person most of the time and we spot the area for each other while flying too. pointing out people walking/biking near our general area
The saying about water, people, roads also goes for windows. Yes, i could technically surf right on the edge of the windows getting some epic footage, but also I could damage said window. If you want to do it you need to be 100% sure of all the ways doing said thing can go wrong. Don't do something and then think about the consequences later.
Another thing: fly sort of near you, if there are people around. Your ears are helpful for hearing bikes or people talking. I made the mistake of flying from inside my car one time and never heard a biker, i was lucky to see out of the corner of my goggles sight (probably 20+ feet away) but i was on the trajectory of him. Just be extra cautious when flying in public places
Dont worry about damaging light poles/trees/ playground equipment / wooden structures, the only thing I'd worry about is what those things would do to MY stuff ...
tl;dr
be on cautious side of flying near people, over water, near glass, out of earshot
have a visual observer, (my parent was one when I didnt have a drivers license) if you're flying in public places
dont be a douche and whizz by people
double check screws / prop nuts before taking off
all the other setup things you normally do
