can you measure the individual cell voltages with a multimeter

I have a multi meter. Where do I stick the positive and negative

unreal kite
#

on the balance plug, every two adjacent pin will give you the voltage of that cell

slate sonnet
#

I'm still confused?

#

Also which setting do I select on the multimeter

unreal kite
#

dc voltage

slate sonnet
#

Is this the right setting?

unreal kite
#

yeah

I'm getting .4 on the red next to the black and .9 on the next cell over? Why would the cells randomly die like that? The other cells are 3.7v

unreal kite
#

what is the full voltage measured at the xt60 plug ?

slate sonnet
#

22.3V

so the cells are probably fine it's likely a loose connection of the balance wires internally

slate sonnet
#

Crap. Does that mean I need to take the battery apart and resolder those bad connections? I've never done that before. I'm a little nervous.

unreal kite
#

that's what I think is going on

slate sonnet
#

I took the shrink wrap off and discovered this balance wire isn't soldered. That must be the culprit. Where do I solder it once I'm inside

unreal kite
#

oop yep that's it

#

it'll be where the first and second cell are connected together

slate sonnet
#

It worked. Thanks for your help!
