Since aliens dont take falling damige how about instead of the already suggested tunnels they get a structure that eats/spits them up into the air to land with the same margin of error and restrictions the teleporters have.

restricted to the two crab variants impalers and shrimp

one perk would be people can with comunication with the comander quickly move shrimp to distand resources with it and it alows for more strategic spawner placement.
ATM people tend to build basic spawners near distant resourses to save time on shrimp having to get there but this creates the problem that players end up spawning at them as basic crabs and away from where units are made.
Not without risk becouse units beeing flung acros the map are gonna be visible but that playes into the theme of enviremental influences on the battle using the cover of night or direction of the sun to be sneaky about it.
