Aliens:
- Need some sort of burrow system to accommodate for the size of the map so they can travel faster, akin to humans teleport system
- Needs more units in general, currently it feels like the aliens are lacking in key departments that humans currently aren't, such as artillery and higher tier ranged units aswell as cheap cannon fodder.
- Maybe add the ability to evolve current aliens, having the choice of giving them different attributes to specialize them in a certain way.
- Would like to see more horde type gameplay options for aliens, like units that specialize in being in large groups whose sole purpose is to overrun humans with numbers, but lack some protection and health. Crabs are amazing for this so this suggestion isnt really important but just some food for thought.
- Both sides suffer from a lack of depth and options in the RTS mode, yes I know it is EA and they have said more depth and choices for RTS will come, just felt like it was important to mention.
- Less conventional units would be nice, like a worm that moves through the sand that could be anti infantry, or could grab vehicles to drag them under the sand at the cost of becoming very exposed. Generally just more aliens that use the environment they inhabit to their advantage over the humans who use technology as theirs.
- Along with my suggestion for humans being able to make walls and fences, giving aliens the alternative would be more like traps and obstacles to slow down human advances. Things like biomass tissue that slows infantry or pits for vehicles to get stuck in and you need to destroy the trap to free them. This would make it so aliens still can defend themselves without feeling too samey in terms of defenses compared to human defenses.
Humans:
- Currently feels like being a soldier that isn't a heavy or sniper is pointless if you aren't in a vehicle. Possible additions could be more weapon options for each class, grenades, and maybe a support class like an engineer who can be ordered to make static defenses such as walls and turret emplacements. Would be nice for those who enjoy a more supportive playstyle for FPS
- In addition to the last suggestion, giving infantrymen different attributes that suit their role better would be nice, making scouts faster or have better handling in vehicles, meanwhile heavies are slower and have more protection aswell as health. Another thing is maybe upgrading units to specialize in a certain field much like the same with my alien evolution suggestion. For example, heavies start with a rocket but you could give them a minigun instead, snipers could have a railgun instead of a sniper for more AT capabilities but have a longer cooldown per shot, ect.
- Possibly add options for upgrading structure defenses in RTS, for example a building will start with no turrets and it is up to the commander to devote resources into gradually increasing their defenses instead of them just being there when they are built.
- Would love to see both factions be able to build static defenses as previously mentioned to encourage people to not only invest in large units but also smaller ones to help with seige tactics. Would also allow for some cool Starship Troopers moments with aliens climbing the walls of your human base.
