Hello, my name is TobiasLegoFan and I will answer your question today.
First of all, a promotion means to get the next higher rank, so if you do really well in a shift, and the host thinks you should get a promotion,
you will likely get one. But in order to reach the Captain rank, you need to get promoted 3 times:

First, from Ground Crew to Senior Ground Crew.

Second, from Senior Ground Crew to Officer.

Third, from Officer to Captain.
The good thing about those promotions is, that they dont come with a cooldown, so you could theoreticly get promoted two times on one day,
altough that is very unlikely. Once you reach the Captain rank, every new rank has a 2 week promotion cooldown.
When you attend a regular training again, the only thing you can do is to train for another rank, you could also train for Ground Crew again,
but that wouldn't change your rank, the only way to get a Senior rank is by getting a promotion from attending shifts.
But there is a way to skip the Senior and Officer Rank: You could also just attend a Captain training, there is one today at 6 p.m. EST.
If you pass that training, you get the Captain rank, and therefor skip the Officer and Senior Ground Crew Role, however, you can't get
promoted again for 2 weeks, because when you reach the Captain rank, the 2 week promotion cooldown starts.
