#night and day mode for evry map

eventually there will be a way to set day and night for every map like you could before september 2024
you could set it up with a slider instead of having two modes (like with some maps like rn) but nobody knows when that will be added
aaa okay
My vote is for a Time of Day Setting much like Ground Branch has.
That required dynamic light on basically everything, which murders FPS
No bueno
What the game is doing is way better, one fixed time at day, another at night
Well way better is subjective. If you are pinching pennies looking for the easy route, then yeah ya might say it`s better.
Better indeed is subjective. But developing a game isn't just adding what you think is nice, even when it could be a nice addition, but it's also a matter of balancing out what is nice to add, with how feasible it is to put into the game.
One major complaint from the early days of EA, was performance. Look at the minimum specs for the game back in 2023. A 8400K and 16GB of RAM is just WILD for how the game used to look. Just find some videos from way back and compare to now.
Now, the game having fixed times, means that not only most of the light isn't dynamic, but they can be carefully done to show more detail on some scenes instead of just setting all to be dynamic and calling it a day.
I won't lie, it was nice to play at sunrise, sunset, middle of the night, midday, early morning.
But you still need to remember that the world has all sorts of setups ranging from a NASA PC to a soviet toaster, so you should try to go for a game that can be played for as many people as possible, especially as a indie game that doesn't have infinite funding.
Maybe Vector should put another choice of time, maybe in early morning or sunset, but going back for a dynamic time isn't very wise imo
Because what difference does it make to set the time to 0200 or 0320? It'll be just as dark and play just the same
if you want to check how it used to look, go to the game properties on Steam and write day1eabuildbranch
You will see very clearly how flat the light effects used to be, even though they run either similar or worse than it does now
