Current Situation:
- Currently, weapon presets are saved within the game folders. While this setup works, it can sometimes lead to presets being overwritten during updates if they share the same name as new files.
Suggested Improvements:
-
Simplified Preset Sharing:
It might be helpful to allow easier sharing of weapon presets with teammates. This could reduce the need to manually search through game folders. Additionally, enabling the option to copy and paste presets from the clipboard could make them more accessible outside the game, simplifying sharing of presets. -
External Preset Storage:
Providing an option to save weapon presets outside the game’s directories could be beneficial. This would help prevent them from being accidentally overwritten during updates. -
Team Share Functionality:
Introducing a feature where players can quickly load or spawn a weapon based on a preset might enhance the experience. Also, having the ability to apply a preset not native to the current weapon—with a notification about any compatibility issues—could be useful. The system could even suggest necessary attachment changes while still allowing the weapon to be used if desired. -
Source Labels for Presets:
Adding labels that indicate whether a preset is sourced from the clipboard (outside the game directory) or from within the game itself could make it easier to manage and track where presets are coming from.
