#Some movies that are EAC3 are tagged as DD+ by overlays, but most are not.

I just ran overlays on my 4K library and noticed some issues.
-Most of the EAC3 movies that are DD+ are just labeled as DD by overlays.
-None of the DD+ movies that have Atmos are tagged as Atmos.
-Some of the TrueHD movies have Atmos but arent tagged as such in overlays.
-None of the DTSX movies are labeled(just DTSMA label).

Is there any way to improve any of this?

All of those decisions are based on a combination of regular expressions and file attributes.

The expectation of the default overlay setup is that your files are named with the TraSH standards.

You can examine the regex and such that are used in the default yml files; if you find that they don't catch your files as expected you can:

  1. rename your files such that they are caught by the existing filters, OR
  2. make your own copies of the overlay yml files and modify the filter logic to suit your use case.

My files are all named by Radarr in the default form. There isnt a naming difference between the ones that are tagged correctly and not.

I do notice that when I go to more info in plex, some of them show in the audio section that they are EAC and some are EAC atmos...but they all have atmos.

That's not a naming thing though? I cant control that.

This one is correct. And this one isnt, but it also has atmos.

Providing Log Files

You have been asked to provide your log file, which will allow us to support you further.

You can find your meta.log file within the logs folder of your Plex Meta Manager config folder (typically the logs folder is in the same directory as your config.yml file).

Drag-and-drop your meta.log file directly into the Discord support thread. If the file is larger than 50mb, we suggest zipping it or uploading it to another file-sharing website.

Please DO NOT manually extract, copy and paste text from your log files directly into Discord as the formatting can be difficult to read and can often redact parts of the log file that are important for full context.

So I just looked at the trash guides. I am supposed to be putting things like DV and Atmos in the file names now using custom formats on radarr?

yes that would be ideal, the PMM defaults are made with TRaSh naming in mind

Because currently my files names only have things like remux, and resolution

ugh...I will have to manually rename 2500 4k movies

i think radarr can rename existing stuff too, atleast ive seen people mention things like that, i dont use it myself

Ok, thank you. Im playing with the renaming stuff now.

You can always modify the filters that are used for the overlays instead. A default setup has to be based on some predictable target; PMM has chosen the TRaSH naming.

I think renaming in Radarr will work. It seems to be grabbing the correct information in the limited sample i have tried.

Just making sure that you knew that; you sounded irked about having to rename files.

I didnt expect it to work well considering that most of my DV movies were manually ripped and dont have correct file names going into radarr. They do now, but I wasnt sure how Radarr would figure out what they were.

#

It worked though, It also seems like PMM doesnt just use naming, it also uses what Plex reports in more info?

#

Which is good because some of the movies wont name right with HDR10.

That's true; it's sometimes file name, sometimes internal details, sometimes both.

My only issue will potentially be 4k tv shows where the remux version has the TrueHD track as the 4th track so the file name has ac3 in it...
