I personally am going with having 1 farm module, 1 research module, and 1 science module on most of the time for drug making and researching ways to improve the purity, and when ready to sell, switch out one of the modules for the hangar module

Some blockers for modularity has been solved with the Hull C development and it seems like they going to be updating the Retaliator with modules (which was previously said to be the 1st ship to gets it modules). and they starting to work on the bigger ship. I think I'll just pick my top 1 module to keep as pledge. Whatever would mean most convenience if I have to claim.

The only reason I think the BMM comes sooner is it’s already been actively worked on, even if they throw the previous work in the bin, which means that they at least thought they could get that gameplay in sooner than later. But as far as what would make sense from a development perspective, the endeavor lays the ground work for soooo many different gameplay mechanics imo it’s a priority ship. But CIG notoriously like to put off the important things to the very last and focus on bullshit like having every single strand of hair physicalized

My reasoning, as to why i think that the endeavor might come out sooner, is because they don’t really need to make all the modules (there’s so many modular ships already that either have their modules built in or have cargo placeholders), as well as they don’t have to make the main cockpit-thingy detachable either, just like the caterpillar (it’s been stuck to the bigger part of it for YEARS)

All they’d have to do is release it with like, let’s say, a fuel module (probably the easiest to make) and maybe the medbay (just a big module with some medbeds and medical related stuff thrown around for atmosphere), and don’t make the front section non-detachable
Later down the line they can just keep adding modules, enabling modularity, interactable front of the ship and whatever else

I’m not sure how that will work. But my thought is the endeavor likely won’t fit in the crucible, but the Vulcan uses drones so it should be less size limited, even if the drones are more limited in capability

I think the crucible has little arms that come out of the prongs with the garage dumped to work on capital ships with drone’s assisting in places they can’t reach. I think the Vulcan drones in theory could work it probably would just take a long time, like a vulture vs reclaimer in reverse

I don’t doubt it would be impossible for a Vulcan to fully repair an endeavor, but hopefully keeping it running long enough to get to my base built by my Pioneer for full repairs

As for what else is a must, is hard to say since the endeavor would probably much be able to do anything else. I guess a fighter of your preference.

I think the Vulcan could probably be enough to handle minor to medium repairs on the shuttle section from when it gets back from expeditions without the main trailer, without the trailer the shuttle isn’t THAT big, I mean it’s still a large ship but it’s not the biggest part of it.

2. they did the MSR before the Hercules or the spirits

3. the did the starters Aurora/mustang before premium starters cutlass/freelancer/constellations, they did a couple anvil ships before the carrack and however many drake ships before the caterpillar, gladius before vanguards before hammerhead. We can cherry pick examples all we want. But the point is that we wont know until they’ve released whatever they are working on after Perseus/ironcloud.

i DID upgrade my C8R into the medipin and complete my C2 chain and Reclaimer chain with the BiS from this IAE though... so 3 fresh permanent LTI ships i can actually fly

unlike the endeavour

it was thanks to the decision to opt for the masterpack and melt the 10 year insured modules that i was able to finish those chains... and LTI all the things for the masterpack is superior to my previous choice of chaining to the ship and buying just a couple modules
