But I don't think they will be working on the Odyssey soon unless they announce a push like they did with Polaris > Galaxy > Perseus

The Odyssey is like a mini Endeavor, so a lot of people will be excited for it's arrival

The Galaxy has a refinery module, so either way they are working on refinery in the coming year.

I thought I wouldn't like the cockpit view because everyone else seemed to hate it, but it really didn't bother me. A lot of MISC ships feel like you're driving a semi truck and I'm ok with that.

It's about the same type of visibility you'd have flying an airliner.

when i fly it i get enough visibility to see what i need

landing it can be tricky depending on where you want to land unless you go 3rd person but the landing cameras may make that not an issue

f8c takes up most of the polaris hangar. not sure how you get a ship 10m longer to fit

idk how models are generated on this for ships that aren't yet in game but vanguard is just too long and too wide based on this

Yeah Vanguard just won't fit. I landed a San'Tok.yai in a Polaris and it fit with a little space behind (or in front), and the top of its wings 'just' scraped the hangar roof when it closed.

I failed to get an Idris so I thought I'd add this to my Buybacks while I wanted on a Pioneer and a Kraken.

Some of my current ideas:

1. San'tok.yai so I have a fighter that's beautiful and Xi'an, which fits the Odyssey's hybrid Xi'an tech
2. SRV (if it fits) so I can rescue stranded pilots while exploring
3. Hawk + Terrapin so I can bounty hunt and do more advanced exploration
4. Mirai Guardian (if it fits)

• Terrapin + ARGO MPUV-T
• Pisces C8R + Terrapin

If when you fail a jump you are dropped at the edge of the solar system disabled, AND they are nerfing the fuel of the SRV. I don't see any other way to get that little tow truck out that far and then back pulling something.

Also while I love the SRV I wonder if there's ever really a scenario you wouldn't rather have a repair ship come and get you rather than a tow.

According to current specifications and respective holoviewer models, the SRV should be a tight but possible fit! Dont mind the struts, i was lazy

fury fits easily. Keep in mind this is (if scale is correct) worst case scenario. If the Ody gets the usual slight upscaling, it may be even better

I think you're right. The Polaris has the same size hangar technically, an XS, but it's got decent room to spare around the the perimeter. Odyssey might get the same. And CIG is moving to "bigger MISC ships" after the Polaris, so we might even be parking ships in its hangar come next year's IAE

rotate it 20-30* and it might fit easier. carrack had a couple quirky ships like the bucc that would only fit if they were rotateed

Been thinking about scanning gameplay, exploration, and the Odyssey. Odyssey Q&A says it has no special scanners like the Carrack has, so in order to improve its scanning ability you should bring a special scanner ship like the Hornet Tracker or Terrapin.

Then I read the Cutter Q&A, which says that the Cutter Scout's scanner is the same as the Terrapin's, and that its scanner lets it scan "double the range" of the base Cutter.

So the Odyssey with its S3 radar doesn't even have twice the scanning range of starter ships. Hm! I bet all this changes completely once scanning really enters the game, because it doesn't make sense.

I really hope they do change this. Currently the odyssey is kind of a flying toolbox that doesn’t come with the tools, you have to bring them via specialized ships that fit inside it. It’s main thing is being a self sustaining deep space vessel, but i would love to see it get its own exploration capabilities without needing to rely on carrying a smaller radar ship. Otherwise it’s just kind of a carrier more than anything.
