The main two things it can do it can do is capture in png and scales with ingame resolution, so if you set the game to 4k then that's what it captures

You've composed it well, got the Cutty up in a focus point and most of the characters there are mostly lined up on the same midground area

One small thing would be moving the camera ever so slightly to the right so that you're not cutting off any of the cutty with the wreckage

This is why I used Adobe to make my logo, they give you 4 versions; full logo with background, logo with transparency, white with transparency and then black with transparency. If you look through some of my recent photos you see I use all 3 of the transparent versions because of the different lighting and colours in the shot

Casaba does good lounge wear kinda clothes, they do a nice pullover sweater and joggers I think, I love to use the sweater a lot

My goal is to get as good as I can at taking vanilla screenshots with zero editing. I know it won't look NEARLY as good as the pros' pics but that's the challenge for me. Lol That article is helping a lot though, I'll be sure to post my progress. (If there is any ) Thanks for the critique. ^_^

I'll expand in on what whosbutwhytho, with ReShade you can use a shader called reallongexposure.fx for this to work, you need to make sure that global camera shake is turned off in the settings so that your f4 cam is super steady

You'll then want to bind the shader to a key (right click on it and it'll give you the option) and that's when you can start using it

For the best effects on vehicles, use the speed limiter so that you're doing a max of 1-3 ms if you can, the lower the better. Slap cruise control on, adjust the camera angle, and then activate the line exposure via keybinds

I have it set to be active for as long as possible, but 5-10 secs is generally the sweet spot

For post editing, I don't have as much experience, but I do know you need to create a mask, mask out the area that you want blurred, being careful to get as close to your character/ ship as possible. After that, you add a blur and somehow add a direction to that blur

Irmdall and a few others use Photoshop, I use Affinity Photo. There will be ways for each, you'll just have to look it up

I can for sure explain how to do photoshop motion blur but for Reshade slower is 1000% better

The only time I'd really want to blur in post is if I can't use a speed limiter or if it's a character shoot

It’s one of those things that didn’t take me too long to figure out but takes a good eye for detail and you get better the more you do it

Mostly takes attention to detail with the masks and depending on the angle of the shot how you place the blur

Also just by glancing through your long exposure thing, it needs access to the depth map (which CIG have stopped ReShade from accessing because cheating) so I'm not sure how well that one will work. Have a look at reallongexposure.fx

Rome wasn't built in a day lol, the resources I've linked in the pinned should help you get on your feet, composition and lighting are the two most important bits when it comes to taking a photo, especially when the game's lighting can be a bit weird sometimes. I would highly suggest trying to internalise some of the core photography concepts of composition as you take photos, after a while it'll be more second nature to you and you'll be able to quickly line up a good shot

I do like photography too, but using an old camera, I've got one battery that's busted and one of the lens needs repairing (about 100quid job) so it's been hard to keep doing it

Virtual photography is nice because the camera usually can't break

I'm on my phone currently so I'll have a better look later once I'm on my pc. Just a few things that came to mind:
Wyrvadish is right, the sunlight is a bit too intense and washes out the character's complexion a bit, might have worked if you were using an undersuit/ armour but the character models need better lighting.
Composition is generally good, I would have centred the character ever so slightly and pulled the camera back so you're not cutting out the map table quite so much, but that is also down to personal preference.
The outfit generally doesn't make too much of an impact on a picture aside from the palette, it works though, adds a little bit more to it without being too far off from the ship's colours

I'll see if there's anything I've missed later once I'm on my pc

Sorry for the low res, was back when I was playing on a 1660ti laptop.

My goal was to get the winglets to line up with the ridgeline, and to capture the depth of the valley behind the cliffside I landed on. To me, the jut of the cliffside defines how far away the background is, but I don't know if that's just me.

It's a good shot, the trick with a lot of ships is to really decrease the FoV, otherwise it ends up looking super long like that

A good tip to follow is rule of thirds. The rule isn’t law but it helps learn composition. Basically you want your centers of focus to fall on the intersections

Two most important things in a photo are lighting and composition

Posting photos here matters because jpgs get compressed to shit in the discord preview (although isn't as bad when you open in browser, which most won't)

Png helps a tonne just because it's lossless

It's up to you, ReShade is a very simple to use alternative

It just stops the compounded compression of the ingame screenshot compression and then Discord's stacked up on top of it

It's not terrible if people open the shots in browser, but very few do, so the quality suffers a bit

Yea. the skull's photos was 2 different photos, but this sniper photo was taken after I noticed nivida thing stopped working and set a key on re-shade for screenshots. I set it the same as my main one. Printscreen. so these was taken as the exact same time.

Im guessing my geforce thing stopped working while playing. ill look into it more later. try and get this figured out because now I got a 3rd folder with the same pics being saved, gotta clear this up and delete copys

jpg has the benefit of smaller file sizes at the cost to quality (usually minor), png is usually a lot more detailed at the cost of file size

They both have pros and cons

You generally want to be editing in png, but once that's all done and you're looking to upload anywhere, jpg is generally a safe bet

I swear by png though

(And am also too lazy to convert to jpg each time lol)

Hey, on the Reliant Mako. Do the Camera turrets work at all and if so, how do you use them? and are the 9 screens in back used for anything more then just triple repeated basic info on the ship

I don't believe anything in the Mako works right now other than flight and weaponry if you swap the parts to it.

I think they work from the copilot seat as regular remote turrets but without the gun?

Oh, i was confused. since there was only 1 ship in the picture. just vary vary small from the camera being pulled all the way back and focused on.
