I can see SIG using precidural generation for cration of set, or even sets of rocks and for cutting them, but I highly doubt that they use it on the fly. But I still think that all actual rocks are modeled by people.

Cuz, from how it looks for me, CIG wants as many assets as possible to be created by people, and leave only placing of said assets to program... Excluding a lot of cases, like landing zones.

I have a hold of 50 items to sell. The trade computer shows the 50 items in my ship, then below that there’s a sub-classification of the same product showing 0 available - and I cannot select the product to allow me to slide quantity for sale.

Does this mean that despite the product being technically sellable, there’s no market for it? If so is that permanent or temporary?

The trick is starting your quantum to planetary pickup/dropoff locations near your desired location and using the “i” button to kill your engines as you come close to the destination you wand to drop out of QT above your location thus cutting out ALOT of atmosphere flight time

It’s semi legal... u get a fine if you get scanned, but you can clear the fine at Kareah before it turns into a Crimestat... the crypto keys are free if you start the array hack missions, pick up the free keys at Brio, Samson, Orinth.... then abandon the hack missions

it's a risk v. reward sort of scenario I reckon. I haven't tried it yet (mainly because I just started myself), but I get the draw. As things go, it seems like a relatively low probability of getting "caught" if you're avoiding stations while carrying the cargo.

I've been mainly doing the less risky (more "legal) delivery missions in the 6k-8k range, and then supplementing that with occasional cargo runs in the loaner Freelancer if I am feeling lucky about avoiding a disconnect error (30k). My gains are slower but I'm still learning so don't feel like I need to rush it.

Another 5 seconds, you're out, another 20 seconds to climb ladder, another 10 seconds to get into turret, another 10 seconds to get into mining mode

Each time you find a new rock to mine, it's roughly 90 seconds of just swapping positions

Yes, you have 3 times cargo, but that just means 3 times longer mining session. My mining session on prospector takes roughly 30min (not including travel); do I really want to spend 90min straight mining?

What happens if I find a 20% Quantanium rock in the first 10 minutes?

You only fill 10% of your SCU but you already have to start heading back or risk explodingg

There is no "best" planet for ore. There are some planets without some ore but locations are not static that I know of. The randomness makes it impossible to answer your question.

The most lucrative item you can mine, currently, is Quantanium but I would not advise it for a new player due to its instability.

Step 1. Go to any planet/moon. Step 2. Scan for ore and find the ore you want in the specific percentage desired. Step 3. Mine said ore. Step 4. Extract desired ore (unless quantanium... in that case leave it on the ground and collect it all after it is all ready). Step 5. Go to nearest port/station and sell the ore. REPEAT all steps until you are rich or until you decide to start trading cargo.

my experience is with the mole but we have a number of people with prospectors in my org as well. We tested both surface and belt mining and in general we feel surface mining is better as long as you're spotting the rocks visually and picking large clusters (3+)

if you're looking to get into trading:

1. Use Gallog.co for directional price information and refresh rate/total supply/total demand
2. Pick an appropriate route for your ship size (e.g., caterpillars need ~2000+ refresh rate if you're not planning on hopping servers and you are the only one on your server running a route. In general your route should be within a system or require minimal quantum jumping so you can optimize for profit over time.
3. in general the most profitable items are high-priced minerals, metals, or gasses - these include Laranite, Agricium, Astatine, Titanium, and Diamond.
4. find somewhere to sell that has a decent refresh rate as well - if you're in a caterpillar this means you'll probably have to land on planets (some stations can have high demand totals, like port olisar for diamond - but these stations still tend to have low refresh rates)
5. roughly you should aim for a profit of ~20% (3.9; If you're making 10% on laranite it likely isn't worth the risk investing in it as you can make 20% on titanium or diamond relatively easily and a 30k won't break the bank)

If you're in a freelancer, a good starting route would be buying diamonds from tram & myers mining (Cellin) and selling at grim hex. Caterpillars cannot land at grimhex right now so most won't sell there (as a result the price tends to be higher than PO despite PO having higher demand refresh)

I found Gallog.co to be awfully slow after it has run for a while. In addition I can't seem to find any info on refresh rates on there. It said I could make 8k from a 20k run running spirits, but the terminal only accepted a way smaller amount without relogging and the price was off by quite a lot

Lyria will work, not sure if you can sell ore to mining outposts. It's a separate trade terminal for that (refinery) which I've only seen at major outposts. I've been mining at the moons in crusader cause port olisar is quicker to park and sell at.

I usually cruise low level like 200 speed. Scanner with Tab and scroll all the way out so it's 1x scan then do it whenever it has recharged. It may take a bit to find a spot

IMO CIG needs to rebalance the various methods of making money. Feels like Combat is basically non-viable now for making actual income and too easy for players to drive trading to non existent profits

How they gonna have a ship that's meant to be soloable cost 2m+ credits but their solo friendly methods of making credits put out 15k each mission tops

Even worse if you god forbid want to engage in combat, then you're locked down to missions that net you 10k and take 10+ mins each

from olisar buy agricultural supplies all the way, sell it at grim hex and then buy scraps there and then sell at olisar. i make 7k auec with freelancer max a run and it takes like 6minutes to 10minutes @opal robin

A prospector is a great way to make money vice. Your ship to make money should always be primary.

Your gonna be a min getting enough for another ship but it gives you a goal so not a bad idea

I agree 100% there Chick, vice needs to be in as well for that reason. I like legal trading though, kinda wish they raised the available amount or we had some more profitable commodities
