Agave, the breeding has to be completed in order to count for the clan task. Have you popped the egg into the hatchery?

i couldve sworn it was just when the breeding happened... thats what its done for me before! but the task notification also could've just. Been Lagging. because y'know.. very optimized game lemme try it. if it works i'll lyk then delete this lol
