Right, so we're almost halfway through the latest Tyrant event, and all the new content that's coming is already here, so I feel like now's a good time to give some feedback on how things have been so far.
Overall, this event has been a severe downgrade compared to the previous tyrant event. GL seems to be following a trend of making new, well-received changes to events, and then immediately fumbling the next iteration of that same event (e.g mini-divine event). Here's a few points on this event.
1. Increased Tyrant Cost
The change from a total of 1500 to 2000 talismans is completely unwarranted, as before, and even in the first Tyrant event, the standard 1500 was perfectly fine, and made it so those F2P players who grinded could get the main reward. However, now, with Gladiatus Aqua being the reward of a collection with the other 4 tyrants, it is extremely infeasible to be able to get it, like how the first half Koth'ez Returns was. Also, why did GL feel the need to return to collections for the main reward? Everyone was happy with Ignis Faber being part of the Dragon Grid.
2. Lower Drop Rates
Seriously, what the heck is GL thinking??? Right after all the backlash they received with the horrid drop rates in Koth'ez Returns, they decide to nerf the drop rate for yet another event? I thought they'd learned their lesson after the drop rate increase for Koth'ez Returns, but it seems that GL is getting greedy again. Something that I'd like to bring up is that if GL is looking to increase profits, this is NOT the way to do it. The players who will shell out will still do so anyways, and the rest of the playerbase won't. All that will happen is the community is dissatisfied as we've been for a long time.
3. Grid Runner
In concept, Grid Runner sounds like a pretty fun game, pretty similar to GL's other game Minion Rush. However, I think GL forgot that DML is an IDLE game, and should not take a lot of coordination, as most of the playerbase is not suited-
