You must press the Participate button the day before the event starts or your clan will not be able to participate (it's not automatic).

You can better see it on this picture. The event will start 24 hours after participating (that means after tapping the button to participate, as CF said).
So it’s not a bug (maybe slightly bad communicated, but there’s no place for the entire text).
I just have a problem with your video. You show your chat. Messages of your clanmates. This is confidential content and shouldn’t be shared in the public. Your clanmates might not want you to share their messages. I guess it’s better you delete your video.
