ahh nevermind- looks like the issue wasn't ublock origin (tried disabling / whitelisting the website before) but privacy badger somehow blocking whatever trackers paimon.moe is using
whitelisting the website itself in the addon settings seemed to help
i'll archive this thread now, though I guess if anyone else has the same issue hopefully they will be able to get the answer
