#🛬 Adjustable Capacity vs. Range Tradeoff

Void this suggestion, someone already suggested

Idea:
Add a slider in Advanced Customization that lets players change an aircraft’s passenger or cargo capacity. Increasing capacity would reduce range, while decreasing capacity would increase range, reflecting real‑world weight vs. fuel tradeoffs.
Why it helps:

  • Adds realism without overcomplicating gameplay
  • Lets players tune aircraft for specific routes
  • Makes older or niche aircraft more flexible
  • Encourages strategic fleet planning
  • Matches real airline practices (high‑density vs. long‑range configs)
    Examples:
  • High‑capacity 777 for short‑haul hub shuttles
  • Reduced‑capacity 757 for longer domestic or regional missions
  • Cargo aircraft with lighter payload but extended range

Forget demand, I'm tryna do ATOM to LFVI with a 772/773

zealous quarry

However wait

#

What altitude are you flying tho?

slow valley
#

The 777 family can't do ATOM to LFVi due to capacity

#

It has more than enough range

Yes I understand

zealous quarry

Although you can always do such thing in free flight

#

Not necessarily find a job

slow valley
#

But with lower capacity the plane can a lower stall speed right?

#

Thats also an issue

zealous quarry
#

If you fly some SR-71 it may be even harder to land it than some airliner

slow valley
#

Yes but would it not make sense for a plane to stall at a lower speed if its internal weight is lower?

What do you mean?

zealous quarry
# slow valley What do you mean?

I mean what is the point of fighting over stall speed at all if it is theoretically possible to land even in such case in 777 at Tomfoolery

#

I mean, Aeronautica is semi-arcade (if not arcade) game and landing such type of plane at such type of airport shouldn't be an issue

slow valley
#

But that's not the point

Another angle on the spectacular footage of our season’s first landing in Antarctica.

The 25-knot, 45-degree katabatic crosswind is clearly visible as the aircraft touches down on Wolf’s Fang Runway.

At 1 a.m. local time, the polar night reveals one of Antarctica’s unique weather phenomena: air near the surrounding high ground cools rap...

The 772 is the same size as an A343

I understand your implication but at the same time I want to say that what you are offering is basically a loophole for creation of regular jobs in a place where there shouldn't be any

but tbh. i doubt anyone will use this feature, since all aircrafts ingame are mostly based on irl range without any passengers
