Ocean is deep. It's very deep.
Even Titanic is under 3,821m at North Atlantic. Mariana Trench is 10,000+m.
But our ocean in-game is blue even at very deep depth.
Why don't we add the sea floor so it feels like there is an end. and some shallow water. Maybe trenches similar to Mariana trench.

- Ocean very big
- Looking in the water will have fog; limited visibility
- 1% of players only use submarines; wasted efforts from the devs
- AEROnautica, aviation focused game
aeroNAUTICA
Fluid of air
As far as I know
I breathe air
And Oxygen is in the air
Hydrogen is also in the air
it takes two air + 1 air to make water
So in the technicality of the theory
Water is air
fish breathe air

as a former chem student i want to crash out
Fish
Shark
but i thought they're all fish
why do they call shark and not fish?
anyways we need sea floor
Tbh I support this idea
as far as I know this isn’t really possible with the current map
the ocean surface is the lowest you can build in Roblox
we’d have to move everything up
don’t quote me on that tho
We do call sharks fish... That's... That's literally what we call them, that's why they're different from whales or dolphins, they aren't mammals
aeroNAUTICA
since it has nautica we need ocean but we have ocean. so we need a sea floor because it doesnt exist
ok
It's the same god damn argument every time and it's always wrong because nobody here knows how english works 🥀
but it still has NAUTICA
prime example
"Aeronautica" is
a noun, specifically a feminine noun in Italian and other Romance languages, meaning aeronautics (the science/practice of flight) or air force. It is derived from Greek roots (meaning "air" and "navigation"
it literally doesn't mean ocean or boats in any way, it just means "air navigation"
you were talking about word roots and associations too but go off
Here's a definition for you
"Nautica is a word originating from the Latin nauticus (derived from Greek nautikós), meaning "of ships" or "pertaining to sailors". It signifies seafaring, navigation, or maritime, and in Italian, it refers to seamanship or boating."
The main problem with the ocean floor is the size
oughhh I need to stop talking before I get another rule 4
IIRC the max Roblox part size is like 2000 studs
Map is like 80000 studs wide
That's some 1600 parts
As far as I recall the plan for ocean exploration would be to have some small locations/POIs around the map, and the rest is just nothing
A possibility is a flat floor made from a decal or mesh or something but it can't even be used as a collision, collisions would need to be coded in somehow (I think)
you can just make up an excuse that the ocean is too deep and no sub can reach it
So you just have small locations which do fit in the part size limit above the limit for most subs
and the rest doesn't exist
And you can just say it does, but you can't reach it
Could work
Localised POIs would be interesting
especially near the center
so people would know the location from others
Now putting a Titanic wreck in the middle of the Avalonian ocean would be useless
An underwater VOR if you will…
the what
Nothing
It could go in between Clarence and the Europe side of the map which I am forgetting the name of
Since Clarence is New York

Anhedral and Clarence
it makes sense since Titanic departed from Southampton heading to New York
It should be near the top of the map because that's where icebergs are
Yeah but the titanic sank traveling between Europe and the americas
So that would make more sense
Rather than north

The point is, those locations are too remote
People will find them
Yeah maybe a couple
You underestimate the dedication of some people
maybe add lore to it
And there isn't even a reward for it... but there could be
well they're like... Hidden airports yk? Stuff you only find by exploring
There could be jobs for them
If there ever is an update which adds exploration subs
Olympic-class Troopship customization only accessible via Titanic badge
You get basically surveillance for those locations, you go there, explore around and then Return
Sunken city of Atlantis
Nobody uses subs for their purpose, there's your primary problem
Right underneath the aether spiral
People prefer boating above the waters
Because they have no purpose

they can't take jobs
Going underwater
Or if you’re so inclined, the sunken city of Atlanta
Hmm yeah but from the air it's much easier + faster to explore, not in a slow ass sub with terrible visibility
and there is nothing underwater to explore
My point is people barely use them
well it's slow enough to not worry about crashing, the points wouldn't be like super giant yk
Not because there's nothing to explore but because they're expensive and slow and boring
I think an easy fix for visibility issues is just making it so you can see better underwater

Having islands not float is one of my dreams
There is no real reason to have bad visibility underwater
other than hiding the fact islands float
(which is already known anyways)
The fact that there is bad visibility underwater is enough
then just
Don't have it
it's coded in that when you go underwater your camera becomes shit, isn't it? Just remove that
or at least decrease the effect
make it like what you get in a storm for example
still visible, but limiting
-# not the stupid storms at kyokkou which have 0 visibility ofc
something like DSV Alvin has lots of exterior lights
but Project 941 doesnt have an exterior light
Exterior lighting doesn't help with visibility in-game because it's a filter that goes over the entire camera
although it definitely would look really nice to have super strong lights for subs
something like this?
I would like interesting POIs for Underwater but I think there’s 2 big issues
- it’ll pretty much be a second map under an already large map (sorry 2 mobile players)
- there’s no desire to even go down there besides that one crate (is it even still there?)
I think to make it interesting
1: sightseeing jobs
2: thermal vent data collection jobs (are those a thing?)
3: depth research jobs
4: pipeline repair jobs?
4: possible rewards for exploration like above land
5: uhh make submarines (and all boats for that matter) affordable and/or actually have atleast 1 capacity.
perhaps test depth for submarines could be made a capped value that cant be exceeded?
kinda like how airships bounce off their service ceiling
though that would make trenches inaccessible
so prob not...
hmm
so it would be about 1526 parts to cover the entire ocean floor in 2048x2048 sized meshes/parts
probably really low poly tho..
What about the thing you guys did with the animated waves
where it always follows the vehicles
those are meshes like titanium was talking about yeah
issue is the floor has to have collision
though, the idea of ocean floor is literally untapped potential for a huge expansion
I can’t wait to take my hot air balloon to the titanic wreck
real
Why do they call them dogs not wolves

RMS Titanic
Belfast, Anhedral -> Southampton, Anhedral -> Cherbourg, Valois -> Queenstown -> New York, Clarence
Sank near Tikaranto and Riziere

RMS Olympic
Built at Belfast, Anhedral
1911-1935
RMS Britannic
Built at Belfast, Anhedral
1915-1916
Sank during heading to Pavlada
We already have memory issues with the current scenery, imagine how bad that would become if we had the entire map's oceans be modelled 😭🙏
There is more land under the water than there is actual land. Whatever the devs make would be bigger than any landmass, and for what? Only like two submarines exist in the game
Remember my idea
small, localized points of interest
And the rest of the ocean is simply too deep to go to
(it doesn't exist)
RMS Carpathia
1908-1918
Sank after strucked 3 torpedoes by an U-boat.
Famous for rescuing survivors of the RMS Titanic
Wreck 120mi away from Corbaun
Are you okay
maybe few submarines exist because theres nothing under the water

aeroNAUTICA, game also focusing on naval vehicles..

Oh boy here we fucking go again

For 4:
Wingz World is the Recreation predecessor of Aeronautica.
Despite the name, Wingz World have boats ingame, they have sailing mechanics that works like irl sails unlike Aero's.
Just because it's aviation focused doesn't mean it will not have anything else, it's just gonna be less prioritized.
