#Encourage livery makers to tag livery posts with aircraft and or airline ICAO codes.

I believe we've all been stuck tweaking the wording of a search in #public-liveries multiple times to find every possible post for a certain livery or plane because sometimes people write the full name and or company name of an aircraft differently. Encouraging ICAO standardization would help manage this issue by having people add in the aircraft and or the airline ICAO code which is four and three letters respectively, making it much easier to have all related works under one or two keywords.

Here is a link to the FAA's various decoders to help people find the right ICAO code.

And also the FAA's list of Aircraft types and their designations.

Pros: with everyone doing this it would make finding liveries and having your livery be found trivial.

Cons: up to 7 more letters added to a livery post

yea I support this 100%

#

only downside is old liveries probably won’t be updated so you’d have to search for the full name anyway

It’s something cool but I don’t think it’s something that would be worth spending resources on

I'd support but I'd also probably forget to tag my liveries with them too

If you're posting say a southwest 737-800 livery you'd just put somewhere in the post SWA B738, I don't want it to be enforced, just encouraged and the resources for the ICAO codes disseminated as needed.

No. Simple no.

#

Why the fuck we want to add ICAO codes when we can type keywords?

#

Why add ICAO codes when we just can use simple keywords?

#

ICAO exists in the real world; some liveries are fictional so the airline codes are pretty much useless

#

It is just adding another step to a much longer process

with discord's shitty search feature i don't think this would help that much

also what exactly do you mean by "encourage" swag_2

part of his suggestion is quite literally

aircraft codes

As for fictional liveries, the aircraft ICAO code would be the one used instead of both the company code and the aircraft code.

#

Hopefully people wanting their livery to receive more visibility will add the 3 character company code and the 4 letter aircraft code somewhere in their post.
