A long range experimental heavy-fighter developed by a team, led by Tomio Kubo. Designed as a response to the 1943 specification for a new heavy fighter with great range. The existence of the Ki-83 to the Allies during the war was unknown along with its specifications. Information about the Ki-83 only came to light in the post-war occupation of Japan from testings done by the USAAF when the 4 prototypes were captured and repainted with USAAF insignias
There were plans to turn the Ki-83 into a reconnaissance aircraft designated the Ki-95 , but there isnt alot of information on that matter
