A few days ago, as I was taxiing to the runway at Umibutsu, I was surprised to see a Boeing 747 - 100 parked at a gate. While odd, it did give me an idea.
What if we could have retro aircraft spawns?
Perhaps easier said than done, however, I think this would be a dope feature to have. Toggleable in settings, you could select from two options, one being the current system, which spawns new/new-ish aircraft (ie: A350, B787, B748). The other system, the topic of this suggestion would be for retro/vintage aircraft spawns.
Examples of aircraft that would fall under this categorie would be earlier variants of the 747, 707s, and DC - 10s. In the cargo terminals as well, it would be the same deal, with the chance of old propliners like the DC - 6 or L - 1049 spawning.
PROS
- Players operating older aircraft would feel more immersed in the time period
- Greater exposure of lore liveries for older aircraft
old aircraft are better
CONS
- Likely time consuming to implement
- Might look awkward alongside modern terminals
- Some people don't have AI spawns enabled at all
Overall, I think this would be a nice addition to the game and would increase the amount of enjoyment for people who fly older aircraft, like myself.
