@dapper nova refi had a brilliant idea in creating this aircraft livery list, and it has been a great resource.
i'm just suggesting a small improvement to help realize the idea more efficiently. currently,
the list is manually edited in a google doc, which is well-organized but can be time-consuming to update and manage.
google doc before : https://docs.google.com/document/d/1VIRG8vDKTr_JFOWINSCW9U6fUT6ewytMqUzfIFNJdHM/edit?usp=sharing
structure of the google sheet
the spreadsheet will have three sections:
-
list reviewed (final list) – a fully reviewed and finalized list.
- access: only admins can edit; the public can view.
-
admin sorting (pending review) – a working sheet where admins verify and approve public submissions.
- access: only admins can edit; the public can view.
-
submission public (open edits) – a community-driven section where users can submit and update information.
- access: public can edit.
- version history ensures changes can be tracked and reverted if necessary.

why move to google sheets? key benefits ?
-
more efficient data management – easier to update and organize.
-
faster updates – the community can contribute without waiting for manual edits.
-
admin oversight – changes go through a review process before final approval.
-
data integrity – version history prevents accidental data loss.
-
livery tracking – ensures visibility into completed liveries to prevent duplicates.
-
kit availability check – provides clarity on available resources for each aircraft type.
-
improved organization – data is structured in a more accessible format.
-
community collaboration – members can update and submit information directly.
-
edit tracking – if member deleted list in public submission, admin can undo/ rollback in history.
transitioning to google sheets will streamline the process, making it more effective and collaborative for the entire community.
note: key benefit is from gpt and gpt make my word not broken
the list is just to check if a livery is already done or not. there’s no need for an admin to approve every livery in public livery,
they only confirm if it’s already uploaded on "public livery discord" or not. and put in google sheet,
everyone can still make duplicate liveries like before```
